Off to the body/paint shop

NO! I had it up all weekend. No fun on the turnpike on that black interior baking like a potato, and I love the heat
Nothing worse than a black interior on a hot day. My MGB has black interior you can burn your *** on the seats. If I didn't want to keep the car original, I had thought about going with a white interior and a white top.

Got a white car with a black vinyl top and that already affects interior temperatures considerably.

Didn't California consider mandating white roofs on all cars to reduce A/C use therefor reducing gas consumption by 0.05% ?
Nice ROI there...

Last patch is in place. This was the worst spot on the car. The leg was rusty too, so that needed to be sorted out first. It is a nice cool, rain on and off weekend, so my paint body guy should me focused on my car this weekend. It is one step closer, this is the last step before he paints it. I love seeing metal instead of plastic ........ Good for you, you need another month of rainy weekends

I hope to have a completely painted car in my possession by next weekend. All of the body work is now finished. Here are a couple of shots of the hood and trunk lid that the painter sent to me. They are completely done and buffed. I am getting really anxious now more than ever.Hood and trunk painted2.sm.jpgHood and trunk 1sm.jpg

I am going to go over this weekend and check it out in person. I haven't been there since he started working on her.

Nick...bottom line....when do you think she'll be painted and under her own power? I'm just getting excited about your grandiose project.

Been watching your progress too Nick. Holy crap man! Bet you can't wait to get behind the wheel and drive.
Can't wait is an understatement.
Funny thing, I was welding in some patches today and started to ***** to myself until I thought about what you did on your car.
I did a lot of bitching:rant:

Under his own power this year, painted next spring.

I got to see the painter/body guy's work today. The work is beautiful. He is sanding my sanding primer down with a dual action sander with 500 grit paper and it feels like glass. He is then laying down a 2K primer with harder before applying base and clear the results are outstanding. I am so glad I decided not to paint it myself. I really looked over the finished trunk lid closely and I could not find an imperfection anywhere and the finish is like a mirror.

Well here's my "profesional" opinion, It looks great! Sounds like he's doing all the right things. I can't wait to see the finished pics.
