OK you truckers...

isn't the gummint cracking down on gliders making it harder to stay with the grandfathered engines?

I know that the Feds put a limit on the sale of turn-key gliders, which were always skating on the edge of the official glider rules. I'm not sure if the new regs apply to genuine glider sales, which would be a customer purchasing a glider kit and having his own engine installed and junking the truck that the engine came out of. I know that you can still get them, but the wait time may be longer than before.

@has2bmopar, just curious, what make trailer? My aluminium decks on my Easts are welded, my Chaparral and Wilson are bolted. Who uses torx? I've gotta replace my plate on the Wilson, luckily the bolts are on the outside of the main beam. That's some serious fab work! Nice skills!

This trailer is a Chapparal. It has torx screws for the decking.

I drive by Wilson Trailer manufacturing north of Yankton SD often.

Ummmm... How does one flip a trailer over onto it's back?

Outstanding DIY deck repair, btw.

We used 2 good sized telehandlers and I chained them toward one side at the front and rear of the trailer. Once the trailer just cleared the ground a 3rd guy moved in with a big forklift from the side to swing it slightly past 90 degrees and then lift it up with the tips of the forks. Then we let it down with the telehandlers until the deck was flat on the forklift forks.

Chaparral made a tough trailer. Mine was dropped with a 48000lb load of plywood, one landing leg went through the asphalt, twisted the trailer over 45°. I figured that was it for the trailer and the driver. Had a wrecker pick it up, got it unloaded, straight as an arrow. Still in the fleet.

Traffic looks fairly light on that logging road.

I left Monday and have been in a traffic jam each day of driving so far. I miss the Covid lockdown days already. It was sooo nice to cruise through the cities with no problems at all.

I was hoping for a second lockdown when numbers started spiking, but no such luck.
8 more years, or maybe as little as 6 then these assholes can have the roads.

I won't be waiting that long. My trucking career was scheduled to end September 30th, the date that my registration expires, but my truck wants to quit now. I'm going to replace #4 fuel injector on the weekend and give it one more try. If that doesn't fix the truck, I'm probably going to have to call it quits a bit early.

Hi Jer, I'm no where near official retirement time. Just going to be switching careers again. I need something that keeps me around the house most of the time. The problem is that I've spent too many years working for myself and I don't make for a good employee, so it would be best if I can find self-employed income again. I was hoping to run hard for a couple months to build up some cash reserves to get me through the transition to whatever I do next.
