OK you truckers...

I'll be checking into the 50 club in July. Yep no more heaving tires into the back of the pick up now I use a board and roll them, no more lifting tire and wheel onto the hubs

Yup. But if I take out the store bought onez I can leave ah single row of kernels every time I take ah bit off the cob. I'll send you ah pic the next time I work over ah cob like an ole type writer

You don't have to be as "old" as i am to know these "famous" trucks. Some I recognized immediately..others not so much (I never saw the movie/TV show).

I only recognized three of these eight that I posted here. One of my all time fave movie trucks, like the tanker in Duel we have gone over here, is also shown (hint: "eastbound and down" :)).

the link to where I found 10 of them is at the very bottom in case you want to know more/confirm your identification.

If you've been there, you know these things are running around. wildest looking trucks i have ever seen.. in person witn my own eyes.

The Japanese "art" or "decorated" trucks: dekotora. Or, in the Urban Dictionary.. they are "pimped out" or "blinged up" .. beyond reason to me but Hey, I aint Japanese. :)

On the not so nice part of Trucking, Saturday I was heading back from a show with my friend in his 69 CHP Polara and saw a truck fishtailing. We waited till he was weaving more to the right and shot by, moments later my friend exclaims OH..SHI....! I look back to see this truck barreling off the side through the landscaping kicking up a dust cloud.

We stopped and while he called 911 I ran back, I get to the truck that is completely crushed on its roof, people yelling stay back there is gas leaking (it was diesel, he was hauling two trailers loaded with plywood). I get to the cab and call out, the driver responds as I'm pulling the door open (latch busted). In the truck the driver was strapped to his seat in the fetal position in the only remaining space left (very little at that). He wanted the door moved off his foot so he could get out, The door was clear of his left foot and I couldn't see his right leg. I told hem it was best for him to stay where he was and help was on the way. Help was there very fast and went to work. We spoke with the CHP and left when we were not needed as we still had several hours to go, this was about 8:00 in the evening.

A couple hours later we stopped at the scales for a driver swap and stretch. Inside they said the driver (70 year old) was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The emergency crews cut through the fence for access, for respect for the driver and other personnel I only took this general picture (would not have even taken if he was worse off).

No thats the COE KW aerodyne. Red and white
From the movie Over the Top. It was on ebay for sale a few months ago. I never saw the movie. I remember the Moving On, and built the W900 as a kid. There was another with a WT9000 Ford called the Blue Mule.

I probably said this earlier, but I can remember the first year of the Aerodyne. The K100 that is. 1976. The local dealer had a Bicentennial version on the lot.

I always identified most with truck driver in Duel.
Silentl and methodical. In the dark.
Just do your job in a way that nobody sees you.
Chugging away in some non-descriptive tractor.
And one ******* out there you wanted to kill but couldnt.

A needle nose Kenworth. I have never seen a bull nose cabover (the Kw) in person. There was a cool old H67 Mack near the river by me. The river flooded and that thing went under almost completely. It got scrapped a few years later. If I just had a swimming pool of WD40...

An interesting note about the Dual truck was that there was originally only one truck built for the movie and it was distroyed at the end of the film.

For some reason when they went to release the film overseas they needed to add 20 minutes to the film. This was all new footage and they needed another truck. This is the truck seen at shows as the Dual truck now.

Interesting.
So what version do we see here now.
The shorter original or the longer later version?

And it's, Duel... :poke:

The extended version of DUEL includes the scene with the school bus, the scene where he is being pushed into the train and the diner where he calls his wife along with an extended intro.
