I would keep calling. I've found Frank (FirmFeel) to be very responsive and helpful. Currently he is busier than a one armed paper hanger...
Also, I think we're in the same neighborhood! (I'm pretty much in Aloha).

After a lot longer than I wanted it to take, I have completed the front drivers side (minus the sway bar which I'm still waiting on, shouldn't be much longer, they're getting powder coated now). Only 3 more corners to go!

Looking at the position of the new torsion bar, I'm not sure I picked the right slot to install it... it looks very high compared to the other side (original). However, if I indexed it on the next position it looked very low compared to the other side, almost interfering with the adjuster. I could surely use a more experienced opinion...

I use it mostly as a daily when the weather isn't super friendly to motorcycles. I need to do more cruise ins. I'm hoping to have it back together in time to hit PIR Wednesdays before the season ends. What are the details on the Friday DQ cruise? (185th and Farmington?)

love to know how you like the Bilstein shocks on your C-body. I use them on A,B and E, haven't tried on a C-body. I would like to use on an Imperial, if they make for the Imperial.

Looking at the passenger side bushings, I'm not sure if any of this work is really needed? They look pretty fresh!
Your control arms are very clean looking, will make work easier.

Hope you did one side at a time. With the stock bar and suspension hanging and the adjuster for the torsion bar backed off to remove the tension on the bar take note of where the bar aligned and where the adjustment tab is sitting within the control arm. Once you install the new bar try and get the tab to sit in about the same spot, a bit higher within the control arm is fine since it's a new HD bar so might not require as much adjustment to get the ride height where you want it.
BTW I bought the big Firm feel sway bar many years ago for my wagon and love it. I only use poly bushings on sway bar links and ends, the rest is rubber, I have well over 10K miles on my wagon over the last 10 years and the suspension has held up well even with it being a PST kit I installed.

I used a good amount of degreaser and spent a lot of time with a pressure washer to get them cleaned up. I've since sprayed all the parts I'm reusing (UCA, LCA, spindle, disk brake mounting bracket and dust shield) with rust reformer and will rattle can them with Krylon Farm Implement paint to get them to look better. Same as I did with the completed driver side.
The alignment wasn't too bad, but one of my front tires did wear only on the outside. There was also a nice little "clunk" under braking and some other wacky noises if I was braking and turning at the same time.
Road feel? What is this thing you're talking about? Hopefully that improves a bunch!

FWIW my 70 300 convert received a Firm Feel steering box about a month ago, i am so happy with the difference that im prob going to do this to my other cars. it feels like a very different car - in a very good way. we didnt replace any other parts as the front end is good for now, only had 1 lower ball joint starting to show a little wear ( the car has 64k miles).
eventually it will get FF front & rear sway bars etc
i cant recommend the FF box enough ! its now a must do thing as far as im concerned

I've heard nothing but good things about their steering box rebuilds. I might consider doing that next year.

How hard was it to get the rubber out of the old LCA bushing? Looking to do some new bushings on them too!
