I got curious so I picked '70 Fury at random. I'm not gonna go 65-78I don't know if you could check that box when ordering a C-body.

There's two tags there. One is half off , rivet rotted.2 tags on a '68???
I will check thank you, I still will lift the rear at least and see if both wheels turnIf there's an 8 under the X on the second line up from the bottom then it has a SG.
My A-100 5 window came with ah /6+727 W/ ah 391SG in it. @ 3600 RPMz+ah bit you could get it all the way up to 53-55 MPH and it would chirp both tirez off the line and thru 2nd and 3rd! BTW, It did the same chirp noise when I swapped in ah 276 SG but it did it @2750 RPMz And it wouldn't top out 'til 'bout 85, lol3.91 SG was not out of the ordinary. There was an A31 high performance axle package in '69-'71 that was 3.91 SG.
No. It's not factory but I'm running a 2.73 SG in my Newport. I am also running a 3.23 SG in the Gremlin.Wasn't 3.31 or 3.55 as low as you could go on a S/G?
When talking rear end ratios, a "lower" ratio means a higher number.No. It's not factory but I'm running a 2.73 SG in my Newport. I am also running a 3.23 SG in the Gremlin.
It's all a toss up . Odds? Not sure of the odds but small engine cars even came with sure grips.
The 3.23 SG 741 case I have in my 66 came out of a 66 /6 Polara. The original was a 2.76 SG, also a 741 case.

I always confuse that....When talking rear end ratios, a "lower" ratio means a higher number.
3.55 is "lower" than 3.31.
