Rebuilt 727 Sources

It went in without a hitch (but with a jack). Took all weekend though, crawling around on the concrete, ugh. One thing not mentioned in the FSM, with this x-member design (removable center section), it helps to take the tension off the torsion bars. Otherwise they will twist the frame brackets so you can't get the x-member back on. This lowered the car but that actually helped with the tranny installation, considering the jack's reach.

As for fluid, it took 8 1/2 quarts to get it up halfway between ADD and FULL, hot.

Also cleaned and painted the drive shaft, and installed new MOOG U-joints.

Keith's transmission works flawlessly. I really like the shifts...firm, but not too firm.

The replacement 727 didn't have mount holes for the tailshaft damper (a big cast iron piece). Not sure if I really need that or not?
