The great thing about dip is that you can peel it right back off. So, I'll dip the Polara & Imp, preserving the existing paint for the next owner...

Stan, you can go to AAP and get a can of Plasti-Dip and spray your hood and if you don't like it......peel it off tommorrow. LOL! They have metalflake and pearl too....

It will cost me $600 to dip it, including the purchase of the spray rig. It's self leveling so any dings, etc. go away on their own so you don't need any body work. So basically, it's $600 to dip it or pay a shop $10,000 to do the bodywork & paint it...

Is this really the society we've become?? Where it is cool and perfectly acceptable to dip a car instead of doing body work and paint? Seriously?? You really, really, think that what you're doing is a VIABLE alternative? Pissing away $600 for instant gratification that you peel off and send to the landfill later? And the worst part is that you find dipping gratifying?

When I did a test spray on my trunk, I got a huge run that I wiped with a rag & it made a terrible mess. Five minutes later you couldn't detect any imperfection.

You might as well get used to dipped cars cuz you're gonna see a bunch of em...
