Stormer's 67 Polara Build

Stormer, when are you going to "Dip" the car? I'm interested in this also. You are talking about PlastiDip right?

Yep, Plasti Dip. I ordered the kit yesterday & I'll do it this weekend or next depending upon when it arrives.

I learned that the black pearl/black flake doesn't show up on a black car so I opted for two gallons of a glossifier instead. I will first put down 3 gallons of black followed by 4 gallons of black/glossifier mix.

Man, this sounds like it's going to look badass. So you opted to make it a little glossy? Do you know of any pictures of cars done with the glossy black/glossifier. I did see some cars sprayed with matte and looked great. I would shot my car in matte black, but the entire car is Red. Ever since I sprayed the rear quarter after the body work with matte black epoxy,.I'm kinda diggin it.

I was in Home Depot today. I noticed in the paint department they changed the Plasti-dip section from two slots on the shelf to it's own end cap display.
And it was 3/4's sold out....

I guess it's the "new" thing. I can't afford to have my car put in a body shop, so to me this is a good alternative. I'm not that familiar with plastidip, but I would imagine it hides a lot of body imperfections and from the pictures I've seen, it looks pretty darn good, but most of the pictures are newer cars and trucks done in it, so I'm not sure what it would like on an older car.

I used PlastiDip to dip the summer wheels on my company car. A great possibility if you have to return the car someday!

And I'm really happy with the resault. This year is the second season for them and they still look great!

I can see it on a set of wheels. Been thinking of trying it on my rams wheels just to see how they would look in black. But a whole car???

Idk Ross.... Could have spent the same $$ on paint and sprayed the car yourself as well.

But I do look forward to seeing the outcome of it!

Zac, no love for your buddy????? ;)

Three simple reasons to dip:

1. The existing paint is preserved and the dip can be removed at any time.

2. No bodywork is required for dings, scratches, sanding marks, etc. Just dip right over the top & all that goes away.

3. It's self leveling so minimal skill is required.

keep us posted on the plasti-dip. for the price and effort you really can't go wrong. it helps if the car is rust free. keep challenging the status-quo.

IDK, I kind of like the idea of dipping. I think it's going to look good on your car. Just have to make sure you follow their video on taping it off correctly. I think it's gonna look mean. Very cool..!

The window glass going to hit the whatever is inside the door? It that a crossover or amp? What about water? Nice install though!
It's a crossover & the glass clears it easily. I put the glass in to see exactly where everything went before I cut any holes.
