Stormer's 73 Imperial Build

I do, I love a lot of stuff .......theres people I cant tolerate, he's on the list, with Galen and Chip Foose

I was a weekend job that turned into winter/spring job. I didn't get the car on the road until June 1. It was a whole package superchager, carb, new alternator and water pump. I had the distributor rebuilt to match the performance of the SC.

What took so long is I pulled the engine degreased. Removed everything form the engine bay including the brake lines. Sprayed and cleared it. I then took a 5-speed out of a 280Z along with everything that is involved with that changed out the old 4-speed. Then the last thing I did was a complete brake job because everything in the front locked up when I removed the brake lines and the back was past due to rebuild.

It purrs like a kitten. I have had it on there for 3 years and never touched the carb or distributor after the initial tune-up.

Here is a before photo. Completely stock.

Different. Nice upgrade.

Foose has talent..........but Boyd Coddington gave Foose his start and got him on the map. They had a falling out and Foose became a direct competitor and nemesis of Boyd Coddington.

I like Foose but I don't know the story. He does some cool builds though.

I don't like foose at all either (sorry stormer, nothing personal of course).......Don't find any logic in his creations.

Man, who saw that coming? You usually love everything. ;)

First thing I knew would happen would be Dave saying he hated that guy. I saw that coming the second I saw that pic. Why do you think I used it?

I like Boyd's Max Wedge project and several other of his projects. IMHO, he was an innovator and a fantastic fabricator. One of the pioneer's in custom hot rods.

I think there are a few guys in here who have more common sense talent on how are good looking car should be than all those guys combined. Don't need to name them either.

Coddington may have influnced Foose but Foose's talent is natural and was honed by working with his VERY talented father.

Coddington was somewhat of an arrogant SOB, (but a talented one), who thought his "stuff" didn't stink, so it's easy to see why they parted ways.

I don't always approve of Foose's designs but you can't argue with the quality.

I'm glad both had TV shows so we could see their work and shop operations. Otherwise we would be limited to magazine articles and West Coast car shows if you lived on West Coast. I'm sure their shops operate totally different when the camera isn't rolling.

Aw, shucks. Thanks, commando.

Dishonest but not full of s. would be enough then ? :)
