My first problem is that I can't get a 34 mm impact socket for this giant bolt on the installed idler arm (top of the first photo). But once I get that off, it would seem the replacement part that came with the car (long bolt bottom of 2nd pic sitting on invoice) does not have the same size head. I Googled this and every kit I saw had the same pieces as I have, the bolt with the crown nut and the other longer one. So I'm wondering how this will all go?

Also, am I meant to just use the various soft washers in any way that seems correct and line things up by eye? There's nothing in the chassis manual and no instructions with the piece on what goes where, It seems like they give you a few choose from so you have options for your application but you wouldn't use them all.

This is for a 1973 Polara custom.

The first picture is of a Pitman arm. Second photo is of an idler arm which is on the opposite side of the car. You need to order a replacement Pitman arm if that is what needs to be replaced.

Thanks guys, the idler arm needs replacement so I'll have to go back out and look at that instead of staring at the Pitman arm and scratching my head, thanks very much lol

It's an old American car, they did not use metric nuts and bolts.
