The Bluesmobile

It is a disease isn't it?!?! Cant get rid of it!

Thanks guys! Needed a little bit of a boost. Loosing the motivation for it at the moment. Need to get back out to the garage!

You are %100 correct Bob, nothing wrong with spare sheetmetal! Just wish it would of happened at a different time. Holidays and birthdays all seem to come at the same time around here, money is tight at the moment as well. Can't have your cake and eat it to though right?

Fender is all grinded down

Does have a lot of pitting, but still a nice solid fender! Just needs some straightening from the 40 years of shelf wear.

UPS called me yesterday. Fender #2 should be here sometime this afternoon.

Thanks Bob!

#2 showed up. Kinda shocked at how much came with it! Inner fender, emblem, side marker, front lower support bar, filler panel, and even the old voltage regulator.

Gonna strip a few parts off of it to re-use, then clean up the rough spots, and pack her away for another day. A nice early christmas for me.

Good thing they marked it Monaco above the Monaco script as well.

Y=8 was thier part number for it in the yard. You never know... some people nowadys might not have known it was a right side fender. Common sense does not grow on trees it seems lol.

Been a busy week. Went through the same process on the passenger side fender as the driver side. Took it over to the car, and yanked the old fender off. Surprisingly this side was still nice clean and solid! It looks as though it had an old repair done on the lower firewall, as the welds did not look factory. However the repair looked good, and really could not tell it was done other then the welds down low. Ofcoarse I forgot to get a picture of it.

After getting it it off, test fitted the new fender, and all looked good.

Brought everything home, and painted the back sides of everything.

Then back to the car. Got everthing bolted up, and was hoping to bring the car home to finish everything. Fired her up late friday night, only to find that I had a couple bad grounds.

After work saturday, went and grabbed her, after fixing the bad grounds. She came out great! Got the car home, and tried to get the inner fenders in only to find out the fenders need to come back off. Did the passenger side today. Should have the driver side done in the next couple days. She is getting there though!

You have done a remarkable job ..... Your photos, enthusiasm and stories have made your Bluesmobile accepted by FCBO.... I dont believe it, but you pulled it off.

Thank you guys! Glad the blumo made it past the council! How does one become a council member? Maybe I can be the head of the bluesmobile department... lol So if I make it to carlisle will I be allowed to sit/park with you guys?? haha Idk yet... Ive never been to carlisle, and after reading all the good things about it, I'm really thinking about trying to make it. But thats months away... Hell maybe stan, and I can convoy up? :poke:

Car is almost ready for paint. The last few things have been giving me the biggest headache out of everything. But got her back together.

I'm back to where I was almost 3 months ago. Wish I would have taken more time, and done up the firewall, and what not... But ehh, whats done is done. Shes not a show car by any means.. I'll leave that for the newport.

Your killing me!! I've already got the voice in the back of my head saying "man that looks ugly!"

I'm killing you? Wait, your the one that took a great looking Monaco to recreate a trashed out replica of a cop car and you think the brown paint looks ugly? Out of place perhaps........:head_smack:

great looking? Did you see the fenders that came off of it? Would have looked the same with the brown paint. And yes, thought the brown paint was ugly. But not as bad as green.
