Things Millenials find funny...

Anyone still know how to use the Dewey Decimal System to find something? Who still reads magazines or the daily newspaper? Listens to 8-tracks? Heck, in this group, watches 8mm “stag” movies? Who’s still using their Tandy computer?

Times change. Technology changes.
You forgot:
Palm Pilot
Ditto machines
Film
Slide rule
Licking stamps
Any kind of tapes (vhs, reel to reel, cassette)
Pull tab cans ( I find those tabs in our yard all the time!)
Milkman
Encyclopedias
Tv colorbars
Hotpants
Those pull knob cigarette machines
Global cooling
Getting off your *** to change the channel
Pagers
Dial up internet
Smoking EVERYWHERE
"Ethyl" gasoline
Pan-American
Cloth diapers
Rock hard baseball bubblegum
Pepsi sno-ball sipping ice
Women wearing rollers to bed
Brown, yellow, or green refrigerators
And lots of other things.....

Followed up by how easy cars were to break into, how little it took to steal one, how it cost more than $120 to replace a car....

That speech?

Anyone keeping up on their blacksmith skills? Candle making? Any furriers in the House?

My 16 Ram only opens with a key and I'm not too worried since there isn't a Millennial on the planet who knows what this is let alone how to use it.

I still use the palmer method, and ALL millenials are mesmerised by my handwriting.

Or, how about the manual windows in the Monaco. They have grown up with power windows. Some have never seen a window crank in a car.

I think that it be made mandatory that every male, before they reach the age of consent, grab a coil wire while the engine is running.
That's how you learn Science.

I find it hilarious how much you guys crap on one generation so heavily....

Here's my standpoint as a part of that generation...

Learning starts at home, we learn all behaviours and traits at home.

Therefore factually we all are a product of our environment. The fact that any one generation is any worse then the other comes back to the generation prior to it.

After all, where did the millennials learn from?

It was the Generation X and the Boomers that created this, Unfortunetly all of this is a direct descendentcy of this.

Is that where all the blame belongs? No, pop culture and the education system have simply filled in the gaps.

At the end of the day I'm a Millennial and I will gladly take any reasonable challenge provided by your generation.

IE the previous comments of "put any wrench in their hand" and the like....

Times change. Technology changes.

Read the Contra Costa Times, TIME, National Geographic, Sea Classics, Air & Space, Smithsonian, Scientific America, Consumer Reports and several professional journals.

Still write by hand in cursive. People are amazed at the clarity and style. Teach my 9 year old cursive. Still use paper records as EHR is a joke. Way too expensive and none of them talk to each other anyway. Medicare can penalize me 1% as I don't care. Still use an old flip phone when I have to. Still shoot film cameras. Still use vinyl records via my classic 60's and 70's stereo receivers. Still use my cassette deck at home with cassettes I recorded in the 80's. However, I do use an iPod in the Mazda since the stereo I put in has a USB jack so I guess that is progress.

Did you see the Tide Pod 2.0 for millenials?

Google it....a girl has 3rd degree burns by spraying deodorant on one spot on her arm until she couldn't stand it anymore. Now she is crying for days....

That is true and many did it by default. They didn't want to discipline like their parents before them. They didn't want to be the heavy. They didn't want the headache and so forth. So take the easy way out and don't create waves. My son isn't that lucky. While his friends have 35-40 year old fathers he has a 64 year old father who likes things the older way.

Had a patient in on Saturday who I have seen several times. She is a 40 year old Chinese female with two boys and works the family restaurant down the ways. The boys are 14 and 12 but I remember them when 7 and 9 because they played with my son. The 14 year old spends a lot of time on his cell phone and I told his mother how that could play havoc with his eyes and that she needs to regulate. She says too much trouble as he gets mad and she wants to be able to talk to him. Told her my sons cell phone (can't make calls) isn't so lucky. When I say down I mean down or we will see how well it flies into the wall. So she basically throws her hand up in the air. Yet, when I asked her if that is what her mother and father did she said sadly no. Yeah, I know conservative Chinese parents don't tolerate mouth.
