I can't buy into that theory.They are suppost to act as a heat sink. It gets better ........ some wrapped the clothes pins in tin foil.
And it does work. You don't take a summer road trip in a V8 ford without them.
Wood is an insulater, not a heat conductor.
I can see the tin foil helping a little bit but you're better off just wrapping the fuel line in tin foil and leaving the wood out of the equation.
You can buy an expensive use an in-line fluid heat sink.
