Not a moron but the car description is interesting.

1964 Malibu 2dr coupe.

Selling my classic 1964 Chevelle Malibu, in the coolest pillar-less 2-door body style. 2nd owner, 110,000 miles, 283 c.i. motor with 2 barrel carburetor, 2 speed power glide transmission.

Original paint color, but the car has been repainted and has appropriate patina. Original, numbers matching engine. Original wheels, still has points injection. Carb has been rebuilt and new fuel lines added, new rear shocks, but that's it. This thing is a time capsule.

The interior has been replaced after the original fabric did not stand the test of time. Car was brought down to bare metal, painted, dynamat on interior floor, custom carpet. Seats have new foam and upholstered in leather from a Rolls-Royce phantom, sourced from the factory in Goodwood England. I used to work there for a year, so I upholstered the car during my last year in college. The roof was removed during this time, and although the headliner ribs are in the trunk and ready for the interior shop, the roof surround chrome has been lost. The leather seat covers are custom, and three colors, sewn personally.

The car has very little rust, a small amount on the lower left quarter panel. There are plenty of small dents around the car from 50 years of use. There is one large dent on the right front fender (see photos) that was caused by a Vespa in Split, Croatia. It was a California car it's whole life, Built in LA and sold out of Hermosa Beach-- but it did spend some time in the late 60's living in Prague, Italy and Croatia (Then Yugoslavia). If you come see the car I'll tell you the story :)

The car is mechanically solid, It has never left me on the side of the road or failed to start. You should expect maintenance required of a car this age, things like the blinkers do not automatically cancel. Such as the downshift needs adjustment as it has an abrupt downshift. The radio works but the signal is ground out. Perfect car for someone who wants to build a real beauty.

I'm selling the car because I moved from a house to downtown, and no longer have a garage in which to keep the car.

Repainted, but left the dents and left the one large dent. It was a California car it's whole life yet spent time in Yugoslavia in the late 60's where it got dented. No doubt repainted back in the states.

A few contradictions in the story just stand out.

I like that he still runs the points injection set up.

The real old timers (before my time) swear that is a cure for vapor lock.
Why? I don't know. And neither do they, actually.

They are suppost to act as a heat sink. It gets better ........ some wrapped the clothes pins in tin foil.
And it does work. You don't take a summer road trip in a V8 ford without them.
