Thread for Craigslist morons

That's humorous, I've rarely seen so much meaningless hot air spewed in one ad. That being said, I love the truck and after you weed through all the gibberish he's probably in the ballpark with his asking price if the extra large 440 is half as stout as stated. I would take the extended cab 1990 4 X 4 for $2500 before this one though.

The "extra-large" 440 out of a motorhome...what a goober! Besides, there is NO wall thickness difference throughout the 440 production, contrary to popular belief.

Mine's bigger...! :)

I have a Very Customized 1976 Dodge D100 pickup. This all power beast came stock with Dodge's 7.2 liter, 440 cubic inch V8. And we didn't think that was enough power so we took the 440 out of a 1973 Dodge motorhome which has a larger engine with thicker walls between the pistons. We took this bigger block, and bored it out to 501 cubic inches, had the block and heads true laser planed. Traded out the steel crank with a cast crank shaft, reducing the motors weight by 100lbs. Through in Titanium pistons and rods with a 7.5 inch stroke kit. Put an aluminum air intake reducing the weight but another 50lbs or so. Then Crowned it with an Carter AFB Competition Series 4 barrel carburetor'. Toping this Beast of a big block out at 695 Horsepower. All that power needed a better cooling system so we made a custom 5 core radiator. With that much power we need a better drive train so we took the drive shaft, rear drive axle,"100 lbs lighter than the stock axel" and suspension out of a tree hauler and modified it for power and speed and bolted it to the truck. Then to tie this powerhouse to the then ready body, we put a custom rebuilt transmission with a prototype torque converter that has a brake assisted torque regulator that opens fins on the torque converter so that when the brake is pressed down the transmission won't engage until 3500 RPMs. All that sits atop 15" American Racing Rims with An almost brand new set of 265/75 R15 M+S Cooper Adventurer A/T 3," Only have 300 miles on then in 6months." All that work paid off with a 501 cubic inch 695hp jumping Monster. This truck will spin her wheels all the way into third gear.

Now all this work was done in 2008, and has about 3000 miles on her since. The power steering pump is no longer functional. The ignition has been bypassed for a kill switch in the cab and must be started under the hood," very easy to reverse and no ignition damage. But she will fire up and run like a champ. I have the color match aircraft paint already purchased," you just need the activator" so that is included. The truck has current Arizona Registration, But is currently garaged in Clearlake California. $3000obo the Motor alone is worth that.

This Truck is extremely modified, has many custom parts. She needs a new master that will take care of her, and give her all the TLC she needs. This truck does need a bit of work. But will make a great Hot Rod Truck project. And the upgrades currently in play and working make this ride a still at the asking price! She has been in the family for most of her life, and I am sad to see her go.

We've all seen the ads where the seller says the only con is a small dent on the right or left fender. Naturally, there are pictures from every side except the side with the dent. Well here is an ad where there are just two pictures but one does include the small dent. Does give a good insight into Craig speak. I'd say more like caved in but then that is just me.

That is a small dent for a ricer, it only got hit by a crosswind.

Looks as if Bob opened the door just a bit too far on his NYB while parking next to him. ;)
