U-haul trailers

I always liked the Uhaul trailers. I think the dimensions are ideal. They have done their research and own more car trailers than anybody in the worId would guess. They are just barely long enough in the rear which is perfect. This prevents *** drag leaving a parking lot.

A friend of mine had one that was legally owned.
It was abandoned at a desert wrecking yard with a smoked bearing and spindle. The yard owned took ownership and sold it.
It was converted to a lowrider. They would build race car trailers with no axles. You get AMC front spindles which have a unique flange mount. With that you bolt it to the frame. I towed a long bed 56 International 350 miles with that one. Rides like a dream.
20 years ago I helped my father inlaw build one, but we made it long in the rear with rollers just barely below the frame for *** dragging. He can just use the tongue jack to lift the nose a little and he can drive his race car on and off with no ramps.
He can load and leave in under 5 minutes.

They are a little bouncy when empty without any suspension but loaded they are bas r none the best I have ever pulled. Low center of gravity.

Location is everything went renting there is a place right by my house but they are a pain in the balls.
I go to a place thats 4 miles away instead. 10 years ago they had this real nice satanist kid. Nicest guy you ever met. Did not give a damn about what you were doing.his tattoos could give you nightmares but just try not to look.

I always had a new chevy hd company truck. So I would pickup traileRs with it the switch to my 68 GMC when I got home.

One day I thought I would see if he would rent me a dolly with the old GMC. The place by the house would not. They said I didn't have the brakes for it.

Well we went to hook up the dolly and I had no lights at all on the back of the truck. It was hot out. Satanist kid said."oh well I'm sure you will figure it out" and back inside he went.
Yea Ill figure it out... at home it was way to hot out on that pavement. I left.
Then one day I walked in with a smile on my face and told him I needed the dolly. He said. "Can"t rent it, some moron had it and backed over the tongue and ruined it".

Well it was the end of an era and I bet that moron was using an approved vehicle.

This was a couple weeks ago when I hauled this 96 buick century home.

I personally have never been successful getting a trailer from UHaul...always denied.

Thankfully my buddy pulled it off...

Again, it appears things have changed. They accepted the 70 Polara as a trailerable vehicle
They also accepted the 2019 Challenger 392.
I think if you have a need again, you may be fine next time.

It went from no Polara or Monaco, to no Monaco 500, to whatever you find is okay. It was based on weight, but they contradict themselves. Last time I looked that Challenger would have been too heavy, as per their restrictions. I'm glad it's no longer that way.

Yeah, I don't know what happened but it is definitely for the better.

No commentary here, just saw this on Moparts so I thought the pictures needed to be posted here. This happened pretty close to me.

Well he didn't get far. The ad for the car was in Laveen Village which is southwest Phoenix. The Accident scene looks to be along I-10 west of Phoenix probably in Goodyear judging by the concrete center divider. I'd say between 5-10 miles from where he bought the car.

There is speculation on Moparts that the extra weight from the batteries and hydraulics in the trunk caused it to sway. Makes sense to me.

You think that stuff added that much weight to wag the trailer?
At least it was strapped good.
Does anyone know the driver? I'd likely presume a incorrect ball height.

Don't claim to be an expert on low riders but if they have 3 or 4 batteries and a pump in the trunk maybe that would push it over the edge if it was close to begin with?

Well you couldn"t ask for a better place to have a car fire.

All those damn batteries arcing on the truck lid with gas dripping down is is a recipe for change.
Rapid change.

With shitloads of weight in the trunk, it doesn't/won't matter how long the trailer is! He's got to have more than 2 or 3 batt's. in the trunk. 60% of the weight MUST be forward!

Genius! So your assertion is the only reason this trailer flipped is because it must have had a bunch of batteries in the trunk? You should probably have all the facts first. I certainly don't. I offered a alternative to the weight in the rear as to the tongue being the wrong height but that couldn't be it because you said so. The statement of weight ratio is obvious.
Notice I said in jest to Chris "long bed" which has nothing to do with the trailer length.
I see you didn't find that mirror yet. :realcrazy::realcrazy::realcrazy:
