What 4bbl carb for 1968 318 fury?

Hoping for some help. Would like to put a 4bbl carb on my 318. Bought a manifold.
Small bolt pattern compared to later carbs.
Pics for reference.
Would it be like a 65-66. 273 Hi po carb?

I think you need a Carter AFB size carb...they have a smaller footprint than the AVS/AVS2 size carbs

The current Edelbrock AFB and AVS2 carbs have the dual bolt pattern on the base plate.

A 600 Edelbrock bolted right on to my 273 manifold. Just make sure the butterflies clear the holes though. I had the machine shop machine the carb opening to clear. It's a common issue depending on what carb you use.

Yeah, the 273 carb flange. Early AFB

Also, if you notice on your AVS in the photos, there is room to add holes for the narrower bolt pattern. Anyone with a milling machine could do that for you. But it might be easier to get a different carb.

What is the carb number in your last photo? it looks like an original but obviously not from a 273.
