A little change of pace from the C body. Prepping the engine bay on the 70 R/T, getting ready to drop in the freshly built 440.
Lots & lots of taping...

After everything was masked off, the etching primer was applied and afterwards scuffed up with a scotch brite pad.

The wiper motor nuts were loosened enough to lift the motor from the fire wall.
Then ti was time to spray the hemi orange paint....View attachment 616302View attachment 616303View attachment 616304
Not to worry, all the C bodies and the Scat Pack were parked way up-wind from that cloud.
With the help from @Xenon mixing the colors (remember I'm colorblind) and pointing out the areas I needed to go over a second time, I think paint in the engine bay turned out super nice.
After the paint was applied, I went over everything again with the clear to give it that shiny, fresh paint look.

No these are at the top a driveway for access to the backyard. Replacing these rotten ones. Are they hand operated or will they be hooked up to a power opener?
Love them. Coming to Massachusetts anytime soon? LOL.No these are at the top a driveway for access to the backyard. Replacing these rotten ones.View attachment 627502

Actually I have a new grandson in Cambridge and at some point in the next six months or so I will be making and delivering a dining room table to my wife’s son.Love them. Coming to Massachusetts anytime soon? LOL.
They are mahogany, 2.25” thick and actually weigh around 90 lbs each. I cut the tenons with a handmade jig for my 3.25 horse P.C. Speedmaster plunge router.Exotic hardwood it looks like. Those look heavy.
Nice mortise n' tenon joinery. How did you cut the tenons on the rails?

I have 6 barstools with bonded leather that are peeling off. So I ordered about 9 yards of leather look fabric to re do. I have one taken apart and marked up for tracing patterns.
My new fabric will match my couch.
