What did you do to your C-body today....

Assessed a few items needing replacement, leaf springs, shocks, exhaust. A quick bit of polishing on the deck lid and faded areas show the paint should come back. Still haven't got the rear drum off, gonna unbolt the wheel cylinder and try to take it off as a unit.

Unbolting the wheel cylinder won't help the drum come off IMO....most likely it's a worn drum with a layer of rust around the outside edge causing the drum to have a lip that won't slip over the brake shoes. See if you can loosen the brake shoes with the adjuster...they are a serious PITA to get to back off from what I have found, but sometimes that is your only option.

Mine was so bad I had to slide it over the shoes I was replacing anyway. It took a while.

Prepaired my Chrysler for German Mopar Nats next weekend.
Add some motor and steering oil, cleaned him up a little bit.
Than I made a short 25mls testdrive along the River Rhine, because of the nics weather today...

Last week I glued the new carpet onto my console and resprayed the silver on the console top. I'm really happy with how that came out.

On Friday night I installed the console and routed most of the wiring in it. I bought some cable sleeve off Amazon which is supposed to be for computer cables. It wraps around the cables and fastens with a strip of velcro on the edges. Made for a very clean wiring installation.

On Saturday afternoon I backed the car out of the garage, installed the passenger seat, finished trimming the carpet and installed the door sill plate.

Well, I had to cut all the lugs and studs to get the wheel off, all left hand, all stripped, lugs tapped out into the drum. The adjuster is solidly locked up.
I've beat on the drum with a two handed BFH, with no movement , so I cut the shoe stud heads off at the backing plate. Next logical step is unbolting wheel cylinder and e brake cable, taking the drum and shoes off as a unit. If theres a better way, I'm all ears.

Yesterday she got new set of front tires. Wheel allignment wasn’t quite right but we adjusted it for a bit ourselves and now she drives much better. We’re going to take her for a proper wheel allignment later on.

Drove jumbo to walreens to pick up some trinkets. I’m still burning up 8 month old gas. It doesn’t stink ( any worse than the regular crud they sell in SoCal ), the real question is what do you guys do when it gets this old???

I’ve always just burned it down to almost empty and then refilled while mixing in a bit of the leftover swill. If it stinks I’ll electric fuel pump it out and dump it at our waste oil site. Then refill w a can to make it to the gas station.

Forgot to mention I got the best spot on the lot !

Checked fluids and tire pressure. Took her on a short country ride this morning.

Drove to get some ice cream last night. Summer-time top-down drives at night are the best!!

Just don't try to eat an ice-cream cone while driving in a convertible!!! If you have ever done it once you'll never do it again!!!

Is that kinda like crushing a giant size styrofoam soda cup between your legs with the steering wheel ??? Unlike your ice cream mishap I’ve sadly done it more than a few times. Untrainable and dumb I guess and now I want ice cream...

Drove downtown Fargo this morning before 7:00 to get some beauty shots. I have always liked the Fargo Theatre Marquee. I just used my phone for today, but may go back with a better camera. My wife wants to make me a large canvas print for my garage.

I haven't seen the convert in 4 days. I'm having withdrawal symptoms.

So...I took one of the Land Rover steering couplers I purchased and started modifying it. I cut down the ears but need a 29/64 drill to countersink the holes for the socket screws.

Looks great! I really like the last two. If you applied a filter they would look like pictures from "back in the day". Unfortunate location for a fire hydrant, but what can you do?

Buffing the old paint on the 300. Years of build up and sun and weather took its toll, but its not cleaning up bad at all

Pulled the top and side window trim off the rear window to get a better look at the channel.... It's pretty fried in there. Couldn't get the lower off yet due to the heavy silicon job (I hope) but I'll work on that over the weekend. Little worse that I wanted to think but frig, stuff happens in 52 years.

Ouch!! I feel you’re pain. Had some unexpected brown stuff on my 77 NYB as well. But! If you love your car like I do, get ready to spend some dough.
