What else do you drive?

Nothing new since I don't like new cars due to all the electronic stuff on them today. If I can't diagnose and work on it then I don't want to own it.

So the daily drivers are:

Me: 2004 Ford Focus ZTS 2.3L 5 speed, 1991 Mazda 626 hatchback 5 speed (these were highly underrated)

Wife: 1998 Mercury Sable Wagon. She is actually a jinx with cars. Once she starts driving them something nearly catastrophic is going to happen while I have never had an episode. Recently her 25,000 mile Motorcraft cam synchronizer started to chirp which means failure is around the corner. She couldn't have her car for one day as it was discovered by me at 9:00PM. She was pissed off and even more so since I have my 7 cars. She can't drive a stick and the restored older cars are off limits for obvious reasons... the jinx. Did spend one weekend looking at a few new cars for her with the salesmen trying to figure out what they had as the first thing I did was open the hood and crawl under the engine. Didn't like what I saw.

My daily driver is my 1984 Dodge crewcab. Started life as a 2wd 360/4spd long box truck. Someone dropped a 89 Cummins and a 96 NV4500 5spd into it and I bought it that way. Drove it like that for a couple years and then last winter I decided to convert it to a 4wd, and redo everything from front to back....except paint. ;)

It is now a 1984/93 W350 Cummins/5spd crewcab. Rides like a friggin tractor...but I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Everything now built is near impossible for a do it your self type guy to maintain.

You just need different tools most importantly being ones with wires attached.

That is true yet I still want to know if I can reach the oil filter, water pump and the starter. If I can't that engine/car is not for me right then and there. Next will be the timing belt although I try to avoid those cars today. The Focus is a timing chain, the Sable a timing chain and the Mazda a piece of cake timing belt. I can change out the timing set, water pump, and entire front suspension/steering of the Mazda and Sable with my eyes closed. I can do the Mazda clutch and both heads on the Sable with my eyes closed.

Pamela's Mazda Rx-8 Rotary??
I won't even open the hood. Don't even know how to release. Nor do I care.
I know where the battery and dip stick is on my F-150. And that's too much.

Anybody hear from Ross??

I had to laugh, to me those are new cars, heck newer than the 80's is new to me.

All mine are old.

1970 Dodge D-200
1969 Polara 4-door sedan (daily driver)
1969 CHP Polara
1967 Barracuda Fastback.

Last new car for me was a 1999 Sebring JXi sold in 2004

That's what I thought, too. If it's got factory-equipped electronic fuel injection, it's too new for my liking.

Mopar or no Car, my daily is a 77 dodge power wagon M880, and when its not that its my 67 polara,

I drove a 77 m880 for ten years , got it from my brother ; he bought 37 of these 880 camouflage army trucks in the nineties when a lot of the US army soldiers went back from Europe to the US.
I think he sold them in about 3 months.

Now my DD is a S80-T6 and a 70 monaco.
( And another few mopars standing in the garage).

I came here kind of in search of a C body, but haven't found the C body of my dreams yet. That means that Everything I have fits into the "what else do you drive" category. For daily drivers I have a 96 Dodge Ram Sport 1500 regular cab short bed 4x4 pickup with a 360, and a 02 VW Passatt wagon. I hate the VW, so a 67 Plymouth Belvedere II wagon with a 318 is being readied for daily driver duties to replace the Passatt. I also have a 68 Charger RT that is in the body shop undergoing a long term restoration. For cruise ins and local car shows I have a couple 67 Dodge Coronets and a 68 Barracuda, and I have a couple more 68 Barracudas awaiting their turns at restoration.
Mainly I responded to this post though, because of the picture in the first post of the Maverick 4 door. Why, because a buddy went with me to Fall Carlisle a few weeks ago and he bought a 4 door 71 Comet with a 302 under the hood. Its almost a twin to the Maverick. His is a survivor with original paint and he even has the original window sticker. We've spent several evenings the last few weeks working a few bugs out of it that were likely the result of sitting for a long time.
The pictures of the Charger the green Barracuda and the turquoise Barracuda are very old. The Charger was in need of replacement of every piece of exterior sheet metal even when the picture was taken, the Turquoise fastback needs quarters now, and the green convertible needs everything, but runs great.

Heres my friend's survivor 71 Comet that's been taking up much of my time lately. Not all that different from the Maverick JG09 started this thread with. The rest of the pictures are my cars.

That's the reason I came here, my favorite has got to be a 67-68 300 fast top. I also am leaning toward a 2 door formal. I know you didn't ask me but figured I would offer since we were on the subject.

So what is your dream C body?

Dream C body is a 66 Sport Fury convertible, stock not modified, clean driver quality, preferably under $10K, preferably a big block, preferably Not red, maroon, white, green or citron. It'll probably stay a dream.

I see some nice 66's in all colors and the 66 is probably the most common and easiest to locate of all Furys. Good luck with that, you'll know its the one when you see it.
