Old Man with a Hat
Lots of chassis pics, I am putting them here for reference for me and anyone else who might be able to use them.
Lol, and to think I am ADD and PTSD and, and and....You're a mad man. Keep it up.
Nope, I do it all myself. I only ever ask the neighbors hand to lift things that are too heavy or awkward for one person, so that's hardly ever.A lot of heavy stuff going on. You have help?
50 and had a broken back, I'm supposed to baby it, but I am stubborn.Wow. How old are you again?
50 is the new 20....50 and had a broken back, I'm supposed to baby it, but I am stubborn.
I wish I had the energy and enthusiasm of 20!50 is the new 20....
Yup, about 5 ft of the bottom of the left had side of the chassis is rotted away, couple less feet on the right hand side but finding another one would be far easier than all the repairs this one needs. I'm sure the rest of it is thinner too, it had a lot of crud packed inside it.Wait, you want to replace the stub?
I am going to have to check on whats what with that one, how bad is the kink?I have a solid one with a slight kink, love to find it a home instead of scrap but it's from a '70 vert and a 300, 2 strikes....
They are retired.LOL, why is it so much easier to find s**t when when you guys look for it?
Okay I see what you mean, I would pass on this, I already have two other chassis like this one, one out of a Chrysler Newport and one out of a 1970 Plymouth Fury Convertible. Also note that the forward mounts are at a different height to the later frame to compensate for the thickness of the rubber isolators. I may have to take a three hour drive to buy a car I know is available, Just haven't eyeballed it yet so I don't know the condition of the chassis. It's repairable, you can see the kink in the upper center of this picture. It would need some mods, namely the extensions past the trans cross member, and the torsion bar extended tubes would need to be removed. The rails are solid, just surface stuff. It's a shame, finding one in the northeast that's not completely rusted through is impossible.

Right, the isolators, and that would be strike three!Okay I see what you mean, I would pass on this, I already have two other chassis like this one, one out of a Chrysler Newport and one out of a 1970 Plymouth Fury Convertible.
