1966 300 power to manual steering

But, you worked on the ISS, so you must know more than anyone.
Everyone in the actual know knows the moon landing was faked by the lizard Zionists, and that everyone in NASA is in on it. The earth is actually flat, and the dinosaurs disappeared because the asteroid tilted the earth upon impact, shooting them into space.

'Cause those are my options...power steering or crashing into a tree. Nice logic. You sound like my brother in law's retarded kids.. Ya know, when I was working on the ISS at Redstone Arsenal...I thought a lot of that equipment was extraneous too.

Somebody got triggered, didn't they? Luckily I'm in an emotional happy place where I can avoid responding with insults. Hope you get there! Good old Redstone Arsenal. My father worked there starting in 1958...remember ABMA and Wernher Von Braun? J. B. Medaris? Probably not...it's a little before your time. You have them to thank for there BEING an ISS. Maybe your main issue is that you were born too late. Back then they smoked, didn't wear seat belts and mixed Highballs on the glovebox door as soon as they turned onto Memorial Parkway. They also witnessed a truck driver burn to death at the bottom of Brindlee Mountain at Gasoline Alley because he lost his brakes and overturned a fuel truck. Personally, couldn't care less what you do. Steering into a tree to stop, holding on to the steering wheel to stay inside the car, being trapped by a seat belt...it's all been long-proven to be horsesh*t and we know that...so...good luck!

...I bet you like coitus with little or no effort as well. !

WTF is this ****? If I made a comment like that, I'd get a 3 week vacation for sure! And yet this ****-stain can get away with this? Why the ******* double standard MODS, HUH? I get a vacation for making a comment about hating ******* pigeons and I have to read this? Give me a fuckin break!

I agree - this thread doesn't seem to match the required standards for the rest of the site's politeness protocols.

Of course, I could choose NOT to read it (just click the notifications of responses box to OFF), but the point made above is valid.

65-68 Plymouth Fury, 65-68 Dodge Polara/Monaco and 65-68 Chrysler Newport - all offered as standard equipment a manual steering box and associated hardware.

Of all three lines, the Fury is the most likely to have manual steering - I've seen a lot with it.

Firm Feel, Steer and Gear and a few others offer good quality remanufactured steering boxes, but keep in mind you get what you pay for.

Respectfully, why would you want to go to a manual setup? The power steering in C bodies is somewhat of a necessity at lower speeds, especially if you get an upgraded box. I'm interested in your reasoning around the swap.

Same for manual to power brakes - while some love manual brakes, typically most enjoy power assist on our big cars. Upgrading to power discs is easy and very effective improvements are gained using all factory parts.

eBay has lots to offer here:

I hope I can ask a quick question here. I have a 1966 300 with a floor shifter that is original but someone put a steering column in with a column shifter.. of course non functional. I have found a steering column from a 1966 sport Fury. Any idea if it will fit in my 300? Thanks in advance!

It will not - the 300 column has a collar and jacket which mate with your 300 dash in a specific way, and the one from the SF will not.

I know it is an old thread, but it might help someone un the future. I have a 66 Polara big block 383 with tunnel ram 2x500 carters AFBs, 3.91 gears and reverse manual 727, manual steering and brakes. I installed a manual steering from a duster on my car source from a local junkyard that has many 60s and 70s cars and moved the brake rod closer to the pivot point and the master cylinder up to match it. Yesterday, I visited the place again to see the beautiful fall clolours , and saw a 65 polara. Opened the hood and there was a manual steering box with the exact same adaptor that I had to fabricate to use the a body box in my car. They look identical. The a body pitman arm pin/stud is smaller, so I had to fabricate a sleeve out of sheet metal cut and bent to a conical shape. I will go back there this week to buy the actual c body box and replace just because the length of the pitman arm will make steering a bit faster. The reason I removed all the power stuff, is that like Norman, I couldn't car less for keeping the car all original to keep value for the next guy to have it after I am gone. I want to make that C body faster and have some fun at the track. Here are some pictures ofbmy set up. I made my adapter from cutting a piece of the duster steering column shaft.
