1966 Fury III - Unfinished Project

Upcoming weather forecast is rain, rain, rain.
Can someone take a couple detail shots (front, back) of their '66 hood ornament as it sits on the hood please?
I need to make me a plinth for mine and need to see how it looks. Found a few photos on Google but the only close ones tend to avoid the base.

Thanks

Phil
Does this help. If you need I can take some measurements for you.

Also, question. Does your speedometer have the cutouts for the arrows but no bulbs in, or is the face with cars that have the hood mount turn signal telltale lights different (blank)?

Phil

They all have the cutouts and corresponding twist in bulb socket connector holes in the circuit board behind... HOWEVER, some models (like VIP and possibly Sport Fury) equipped with hood/fender mounted indicator lights had the indicators in the speedo blacked out with opaque black tape.

Chryslers with the fender mounted indicators did this.

Just find the twist in bulb holders and bulbs and they'll work just fine.

I was curious; mine has regular green arrows in the dash. I like the hood mounted telltale lights. Wasn't sure if they had a different speedometer stamping or if they just didn't fit the bulbs in the dash (I know they didn't do both, did that much research).

Thank you. I'll just leave the bulbs out if I fit hood mounted telltale lights.

The four 68 Chryslers that I have had (2 NYERs' and 2 Newports) had the turn signal indicators in the dash as well as on the fender.

I think they may have changed it over the years, or it was dependent upon line workers... who knows?

All the 66 Monaco 500s I've had/seen had both, but my T&C only had front fender ones. I just took the tape off and shoved in the sockets and bulbs....

Oooh, don't do that!! I love my winkies!! They're SUPPOSED to function!! :D Edit @Philip Andrews - I thought you were talking about leaving the bulbs out of your winkies - but I believe now you were speaking of leaving them out of the speedo if you fit the winkies... so if you wind up leaving the bulbs out of the speedo and going with just the hood/fender mounted ones, you'll need to put blackout tape over the holes behind the speedo to block out random light making the arrows slightly visible.

I do believe mine has both. I will take pics of it when I get home.
Need to take the wife out for supper it’s our 28th anniversary today so that trumps the pics.

Here you go, some close ups of the hood ornament and flasher lites. Had to sneak out but that’s ok. On mine both the dash and hood lites work. I have the dealer installed 4 way flasher on mine that’s why both lites show up. I measured the ornament from the edge of the hood.

Thank you! Hope you didn't get in trouble on my account.
I'm going to see about making something similar with what's left of my hood ornament.

Partly shaped up a new section, need to trim and bend a bit more yet.

Just been out and about busy and that's great because I have to be up at 2am to run a maintenance upgrade on two of our systems at work. Then up for 7am and back to work!

Might get a bit more done tomorrow if the weather holds.
