I am the one who took the pictures of the black GT with the Anson mags at a Mopar car show in Twinsburg, OH in 1995. I also took a picture of the original window sticker attached to the drivers window. When I heard about possibly the same car being up for sale I called on it and compared vin numbers. It is the same car, so the dealership asked me if they could have copies of the pictures I took at that time. I never saw the car again, but did talk to the owner at that show. He was the original owner and at that time it had very nice original paint. Not sure what could have happened to it since 1995, but really too bad it was repainted somewhere along the way.

Why? Again, I think we as a group are giving the selling stealership too much credit. I presume these old car places know very little about old cars, and whatever they do know is bow-tie-esqu and apply those rules to all makes, models and lines.
The best thing they could have done to sell this car was leave it as was and include the 20 year old photos.

I'd like to know more about this floor mounted 8 track. '71 was the first year for the floor/console mounted factory cassette, I'm not familiar with a factory 8 track.

That rear quarter GT emblem is different than before the repaint. Just nit-picking though. I would LOVE this car messed with or not. Yes a survivor would be better but some will take the shiny paint over the original if it was showing its age. 25 years can do a lot to paint and it might have been cracked, dinged, shi$ spilled on it and faded. Who knows but they thought a new spray would make it look better and appeal to a larger group of buyers. All I can say is I would love to see that car with those chrome solid fury rims as that would be one bad a$$ ride IMHO.

They didn't do the repaint.
The original owner removed the Rallye Road Wheels that came with the car.

It's listed as R 35 which is Am/fm the 8 track would have been in dash and even then on an am radio..... anybody to dispute that?

The wheel lips appear high, more so in the old photos.
The dealer told me they had things to do to it but didn't elaborate.
Presume they are Lash and determine innocence from there

That would have been for 1970, in '71 it was "reminder light package".

If I was in buying mode, I would buy this car today. I think there is value there, and meat on the bone at their asking price.
$35K would not be unreasonable.
One could correct the decals, wheels, tires and adjust the T-bars in one week, not hard or too costly to do.
You could buy it,...correct all the issues and ask $45K. Find another one....this appears to be a very good car.
