5700 miles, then Carlisle

Awesome trip, awesome photos of the scenery especially. You pack a lot of adventure into just one trip! Glad everything went so well. You have a lot of good friends - that says a lot!

Happy 50th youngster!

Thanks for sharing your adventure!

What was wrong with the 71 Fury you almost bought, besides the back window styling?

Minimal was wrong. Nice solid original car. Great color. Since it was so close I had to look at it, maybe I needed it, I didnt.

Did you realize you were swimming with Nessie?

Thanks Dave, your pics just make me want to take Jeannie and go see it for ourselves and the additional Carlisle pics are great too.

Great pix Dave. And great thread. Had I known you were going to some pretty awesome high ground country I'd have shared ah few adventurez I've had of VERY close callz with 4 legged horned critterz out there when I waz runnin' 48. Elk, Prong Horn, AND Muliez have way different habbitz then the White Tail your used to. And Open Range presentz it own form of unique excitement. But I'll save 'um for another time when we're bench racin'. Missed seein' you and spendin' time with you and your clan this year Pal. I'm alread workin' on Carlisle '17 Jer

I didn't care what was living in there. The beauty of the environment and the clarity of the water....... I had to do it

Jer. From Jackson Hole through the rest of Wyoming was very adventurous. SO many animals on the roadway. Some, simply laying on it for a rest. How I got through it without hitting a big mammal is beyond me....creatures everywhere

Thanks Rip....

I don't do hats but this year I bought one because of my head burning last year. The hat was in the truck.... it wasn't sunny. I simply hate to cover up the hair
As you get older, you get taller and start growing up through your hair. The big five-oh is when it really begins.

It is on my list of vacations too one day in the convertible, but over 6-8 weeks . This was a 17 day marathon. 5903 miles from start to finish.

X2.

Great pics and another great story! I'll be doing this someday with the vert...it's just about the only thing on the bucket list at this point. The first pic with the sunrise, that's just spectacular!

Thank you....it was spectacular .. they all really were. The sun didn't go away until 1030 pm there. Complete darkness at 1130
