'69 Fury III Convertible Build Thread- Project IVY

So Some of you may remember that my plan way back when was to get a set of #302 318 heads, then I ended up finding the 340 heads, well when I bought me "New" 318 I was told it had later heads and that they were swapped because the original seats and stem guides were shot, well I ran the numbers on everything tonight, it's a Nov. '69 318 produced in the Mound Road Plant in Detroit, with a set of 1986 #302 318 Fast Burn swirl port heads.

So my $50 engine is turning out to be a REAL keeper, sort of be fitting of my Angel.

And Stan,

You keep on being handed crap and you come out smelling like roses. Fantastic.

I'm lucky that way Stan,

How about another Crap to roses I'm going to pickup on Sunday, $300 buys me a set of '71 340 J Code heads that are rebuilt, ported, polished, Guides, Hardened Seats, New Springs, retainers, and a grind job, '68/'69 340 intake, and 2 '71/'72 340 intakes.......

I do okay, And I have a guy interested in my 360 in the Fury right now. Just need to finish my 318 and do the swap.

Timing Chain is in, damper back on, timed, cover back on, my neighbor had a left over front cover gasket he gave me, Now I'm waiting for Summit's box to arrive to Finish it,

Only spare time I have is before work, and after work, I do most of my work before work now.

Things like that happen inside a bubble.

Went to the scrapyard first thing in the morning after I went and bought a new suit, shoes, shirt etc.

Then I went tinkering, waiting for a friend to get off work and stop by, He's a retired bodyman, and bodyshop owner, he was able to sort of teach me what I needed to know and gave me some excellent advice (not that you guys haven't, it's different when the two of you are looking at the car and can point and mark area's)

So........

What is the difference between the 68/69 340 intake and the 71/72 340 intake? (Is a 70 the same as 69? Is a 73 the same as 72?)
