'69 Fury III Convertible Build Thread- Project IVY

Thanksgiving Dinner with my Grandpa at the Hospital (meal was well.........) Of course the young man with the Nurse gets an extra piece of pie.......among other things (it has it's perks)

Went home and started Playing with my Heads. Already played with my Trunk this morning.

Intake side is pretty carboned up...........

You wore a new suit and shoes to the scrapyard? Wow, you really are a buttoned-down type of guy! :)

My Mom thinks I look good in a Vette, a few other woman think so to.... Might as well wrap my *** in glass...........Turns out the award came with a $100 cheque from the Ford Dealer............hate to tell them I'm spending it on Mopar parts.

When the Vettes lost the chrome bumpers I completely lost interest, you look good though Nick! Congratulations on your graduation.

I wish I had a daughter. I'd hook you two up in a heartbeat.
Um, wait. Grandaughter. I keep forgetting...:icon_silent:

What is the difference between the 68/69 340 intake and the 71/72 340 intake? (Is a 70 the same as 69? Is a 73 the same as 72?)

Early intake will also be for a AVS carb and the later for a Thermoquad.

Mostly right about that, however I have a bit of a soft spot for the last ones of this design cycle with the changed back glass.

And its green......unefin believable
Dave, I only have one color................Green.

You look like some kind of big city detective. Nick P.I.
The Winter Files would be better ;)................I'm not a fancy flashy tough guy type.......

I too prefer the mail slot C3's to the wraparound C3's.......
Never liked Vettes...the entire production run...not one. I hope you had fun though, Nick.
I don't really like Wagons, or Formal C Bodies, to each their own, I did have a good, but late night.

Forget about getting in late last night. Go back to the part about Formals....

Nick....Is it about that time of year where the white stuff starts to pile up in your area???

Actually no and we don't live in igloos up here either...

Sorry Dad, the more I look at Formal C's the less I'm impressed, The styling doesn't do much for me, I still appreciate them for what they are, but what they are isn't me.......

Well I went and picked up my 340 parts yesterday, the cams are in the box at the top of the bed, 509 lift Mopar Purple cam, 440 lift crane cam, 410 lift that I forget the make of, also bought the oil filter adapter for $15.

So 1971-1972 340 J code heads, ported, polished, port matched, hardened seats, etc, '68 340 intake, '70 340 intake, and 71 340 intake.

and of course Summit finally sent me the rest of my do hicky's I ordered, gasket set for the 318, plugs for the 318, and polyurethane sway bar kit for the Chevy.GEDC1153.jpgGEDC1154.jpgGEDC1158.jpgGEDC1141.jpgGEDC1151.jpg

Went and got it's bodypanels yesterday, today was my birthday, my dad wanted a picture of me with something from the Fury, he's especially proud of the 'stashe (he's had one for about 40+ years now) So I grabbed the first piece of Angel I could find.

Next weekend the new 318 goes in, the taillight panel gets whats left of the metal work and then I start getting ready for primer.

I've convinced a guy I work with (he owns the shop next door) to loan me (for a small fee) his shop for a weekend, at which time I'll take the car over and hit it with primer!

Nick
