the guy who bought it is from pennsylvania we have talked alot he will be picking it up the week of the 20th if everything goes right. he is probally going to put a 4-speed in it which is what I was going to do eventually. I will see if he will keep us up to date on how it turns out and what happens with it.

well, there ya go........another extremely rare car down the tubes - as far as originality is concerned. i'm sure it will be a blast to drive though. at least somebody is finding what they are looking for Stan, even if you and i aren't!

How he handles the tunnel hump issue will tell me volumes on whether it's a hack job or done correctly. And what he does with column shifter collar, too.

I would prefer to see it stay a 3spd man column shift only because 9 guys out of 10 will not appreciate the car and commence to doing a backyard "hack job" in trying to change it over to a 4spd set up....time will tell.

Ain't that the truth.
And before anyone mouths off by saying "well I didn't see you step up to the plate to save it", it wasn't worth even close to the 3500 bucks it got. I ain't stupid.

Most likely right....although even cars like that don't stay for sale long in my neck of the woods. Most that I come across for sale are total, total wrecks....

That is what Marks problem is......he'll do the conversion then in a year sell it off............

I really resent that. My job was as professional as they come. I defy anyone to have done it 1/2 as good.
That hurt, Dave. Seriously.
If it turned out that I got that Newport, and if it turned out that I did put a 4 speed in it, except for the build sheet, it would have passed as factory. So, thanks for nothing...

I would buy it and hire Stan to do it right. The first time.

Thats not what I meant, just the fact someone will do the conversion instead of leaving it as a 3 speed.
