73 Imperial "McGoldy" to join the Minnesota herd.

Will you be making all your autotemp II systems operable? I notice you still have the factory servo under the hood rather than the much more durable Performance Analysis ones that don't crack at the bottom and leak out all the coolant while you are driving down the road thinking all is well.........................

I would get the upgraded aluminum lower section servos or at least bypass the old style servos with the orange bakelite lower section with the nipples that crack every two years approximately under even casual use. Been there. The Performance Analysis Company servo on my 72 Imperial 4 door has been working fine for 10 years now. The most I ever got out of the original Chrysler servos was 2 years before they started leaking. Big difference!
Asked them to recheck all the air conditioning components for leakage...all is good and stable for now. I don't have functional cooling with any of the Imperials...which is not a concern for me. I want to keep all of those pieces intact for the next caretaker, though...

 I'm with you on the AC thing. Better to spend the green backs on something more important to you!
Tires, paint, wheels.... I could go on and on..
Nice going Doc, on all your Imps, congratulations!:thumbsup:

Awesome! Didn't realize it was down.... good on them!
I've been fortunate to have great mechanics locally...and in Mankato that are comfortable working on the Imperials. Once, McGoldy is shipped there may be a pause for them to catch up on other customer projects. Then, the patina Imperial will be gone over during the winter.

Sort of, I'm considering selling it as it's too expensive to fuel in NZ where premium fuel is around 10.00 a gallon, and since I don't (yet) live in Calgary (10 year plan) I wouldn't get much use out of it. Am off to Wisconsin tomorrow for a week and will discuss with my friend Perry. At least I'll be driving it west to visit Doc, so will get enjoyment from that.

We're serious about Calgary as even NZ is getting too hot for us, Fiona can't cope with heat and i'd rather be in minus degree weather, so inquiries are being made.

Let me know if you'd like it Terry, would be a nice drive from Appleton to Carstairs, been thoroughly checked over by expert mechanics, hopefully she's all set now, ATC-11 should be functional as they were restoring the system.

I'm wondering whether we could import our Aussie supercharged Ford Falcon GT which, naturally, is RHD. We have the red car in the blue of the other one at the end of the ad. Would be nice to blow off some mustangs with a good Ford lol.

Want any more?

The Mankato mechanic is driving McGoldy to his home 20 miles from the shop for the night to do the final road test...should be here with me Saturday at some point in the day.
"Why is there 1,000 more miles than what the car had when I bought it?"
"We had to dial it in, sir."

Just as long as he doesn't put it in a ditch...looks like its snowing out there now. I wouldn't personally drive it in snow...But, they need to road test her...she's been sitting too long to not check out her lungs.

Funny but true story...and proof it's a small world...But, the guy in town where I store Big Red over winter used to own one of the three 61 Ferrari replicas from the movie...think they were a Spyder chassis or something like that....think he sold it in 2013 in a big auction...Anyway, he had quite a car collection...sold everything and now rents his garages.

Simple solution for your a/c in your Imperials.....

Fill a carryon size bag with cash (small bills) and put it in the trunk of each car.

Then send them down one at a time to me for a month or two each and I will fix them.

I’ll try to keep the additional miles below 1000.... promise!

a little *sidetrack mcnugget find on the internet:

My 73 McGoldy is coming home today from shop...
But, I saw this 72 gold Citroen that is up for auction in Palm Springs next week, Nov 16 lot#30...another gold beauty.
