I'd be all over this except for the added expense of changing the color to Bittersweet Metallic, swapping the interior to parchment, and adding a sunroof. Oh yeah, and adding the electronic tune radio.

Other than that, I'd be bidding.

No power vent windows !!!! :wtf:

I'm out !!!!

When you realize how special it is that this car has vent windows in the first place, power or manual is a moot point.

The Dove Grey velour interior is my most fave.

I drove those cars (plenty of different ones) to home and back several days a week before they were even sold because it was my job to evaluate driveability and develop solutions to problems as they were needed. After driving a bunch of them, I too concluded that the dove gray cloth was the best of the bunch. The leather ones were too slippery and didnt' seem to have the subdued class of the cloth interiors. The leather versions seemed too "bordello" to me, especially the red ones. But to each his own.

Steve: I'm surprised you posted this car....considering your love affair with Formals!!! LOL!!

BTW: Does anyone know where I could get my hands on a nice set of these "W23 Premium Wheel Covers"? I've looking for a while.

Looks nice...For me I have to HAVE leather seats...do you realize how fast velour picks up dog (3 yellow Labs) hair?...that interior would look destroyed in a weekend.

I'm in too deep with my blue NYB to even consider buying this car. Wish I would of seen this car a decade ago.....

I saw a low mileage NYB like this, a few years ago, never registered, with the MSO. The undercarriage had a lot of rust. I wonder what this one looks like.

Just a couple of observations: The window stickers in 1978 were glued on to the window. The one affixed to this window is the dealer's copy. As I recall, the air cleaner cover should have a lean burn sticker on it. The battery thermo-guard is missing. The fenders appear to have been painted (or carefully rustproofed) under the hood springs/torsion bars. The hose clamp is not original.

For comparison, this is a photo that I took, under the hood of a 77 Newport 400 V8 with 37 original miles a couple of years ago.

I've never been a formal guy but this car makes me want to be one. Somehow I could feel the steering wheel when looking at the photo of it.

Ah the damned reality of saving for a truck.
