Carlisle, Pittsburgh, Orlando... my summer vacation

About a Mile or 2 up the road from the Fairgrounds, on Route 34. There was a silver 4 Door Formal, With the "waterfall" front end for sale. Parked in someones driveway. Did you get to see that, Jeff?
I told Jeff about it on Saturday... His eyes kind of glassed over...

I was told that it was there last year too. For some reason, I thought it was white, not silver, but that was a lot of cars ago.

I have seen that car for the last 2 years sitting there on that weekend, never stopped but have been tempted.

Dang....

We'll have to put a special ed helmet on Jeff before we can turn you lose at Leon's junkyard in Culpepper, Virginia....

Actually, it's Dove Gray. That car has been for sale for YEARS! (I'm talking like 6 to 8) It's like a monument for me, it's how I know I'm getting close to the fairgrounds! Lol. I've never stopped to ask what he wants it, but it must be a lot, other wise it would have been gone long ago.

You better get a tetanus shot for that Jeff! Lol. And check YOURSELF for ticks! Great meeting you at the show. Me and Sammie enjoyed your company! Safe travels my friend!

I see the laceration on the arm Catnip but what about all the mud dobberz and paper wasps you faced at that latitude this time of year??????????????
I'm somewhat allergic... there were a few cars I didn't get to poke around as much as I would have liked because they were infested... got luck with my Formal find.

Missed that entirely... I am amazed at how hard it is to try to take all of Carlisle in, I didn't make it through every vendor in the swap and I certainly missed a lot of show field. I had a blast though.

Zack, missing the chance to meet you was my biggest disappointment of the event. You definitely belong in that picture

I already had as much to drive home as I could handle... and you guys may not realize just how lost I was all weekend, I finally figured out how to get to gate 3 from route 11 reliably on Sunday. Next time I will change hotels just to keep it interesting.

You should, you need one...

Cool... I can plan that into a future trip.

The pleasure was mine... you guys make a great couple, I was blown away that she found her inner "gearhead" with you. For anyone who hasn't meet them, I really enjoyed watching these two interact and work through stories as a team.

That wraps up my lame attempt at a panoramic view of the place

Now for a few specific cars

I found the classic section:

I took most of these by holding the camera way up and away from myself to get a better angle where I was unable or unwilling to go... I'm not much of a photographer and it's not a great camera...

That is the best VIN shot of the day... I know I'm bad at this.

Next the fender tag for that car

Sorry... you need both pics to get the whole tag... It's the only one I found that was still there Doug... after falling a few more times, I gave up on it.

Not all my pics are Mopar... anything I found interesting enough and wasn't too over grown is in here... a nice winter trip would have been better. It was HOT.

I tried to get as much as I could off the cars I thought might have something left to offer...

Looks like you had the place to yourself.

Did you chastise the yard operators about the proper method of supporting a raised vehicle using the appropriate stands? :poke:

My goal here is to help anyone with a project car... I'm not going to publish the location, but I will happily PM any interested active member. These are PA cars and most don't have floors anymore, but I saw lots of fixable sheet metal and some other stuff. NO TOOLS... AND I'M MISSING CARLISLE'S LAST DAY.

By this time, I had spent an hour or two in my NYB find and had fallen a lot... I was just trying to get some pics of the good cars and I couldn't help but grab some interesting (to me) pics of odd stuff. Anyone else like old odd trucks?

The Bradley GT is sort of a personal curiosity thing... I hated working on the few VW Beatles I did in my career (Porsche's too) , but I lived in 2 addresses on Baldwin street in Bridgeville before I was old enough to drink (FiberFab's PA address) and I used to talk to a couple of old guys who were part of the noon crowd at the local watering hole (I was underage... just happy to get served) and listen to their FiberFab stories.

Nice square bird... if you like them.

Lots of IHC and a few Studebaker P/U's

An Opel GT... I thought they had all dissolved...

Lark? Daytona? This car is pure gold to the right person... very complete...

The place was crowded in the late model section... nobody else in the classics...

Of course I thought about it

But after a nice lady gave me a ride back up that hill in a yard van with A/C... I forgot all about it:)
