Fuselage - Drums to Disc Brake Conversion

I could get a new one...no problem.....BUT from what I hear its a REAL ***** to install one of those. Don't know if I'm up to it...might be getting in over my head with that.

Just to R/R your original to get rebuilt is not so bad. I just used a 1/2" shorty rachet w/short extention & a box wrench - max 10 mins. Mines a '66 so don't know if a '70 is different ...

I saw in your video you had your intake & heads off and if you can do that you could do the booster with your eyes closed!

The 70 has a lot more going on under the dash. Still not that bad a job...

yeah, that was easy...plus I didnt have to build some kind of home made contraptions and devices just to pull some bolts out....and the intake/heads are not the brakes.....
Seriously....remove the front seat just to get at the pwr break booster?

You don't have to remove the seat.... Just that it's 4 nuts and it's out. It gives you a ton more room to get your head in there and see what you need to unbolt. I just always suggest it because no one seems to think about doing it.

The nuts are on studs.... and there's no "home made contraptions". It's just a deep sockets and an extensions. A U-joint might be needed, but that's pretty standard tool stuff.

And most of us aren't as flexible as were were 30+ years ago :)

I really dont have the space to pull the seats even if I wanted to..the car is sitting in the garage and its already up on jackstands.

Don't get hung up on the seats.... It's just a suggestion. Forget that I said it.

Guys like me that have "big" in front of their name and have a neck that doesn't work anymore do this better with the seat out.

If you take the front seat out, the job will become much easier.

Thats the next thing getting done on Scorch - booster is leaking vacuum - I'll be watching your progress here Gary so please GO FOR IT!!!

With of the other things you have done on the car the booster will be easy. Don't sweat it.

You make it sound easy.

I dont want to get up under the dash and disturb more stuff under there. I already had to do that to replace the fried connector. I dont want to start pushing and moving wiring and stuff around that hasnt been touched in nearly half a century. Asking for bad **** to happen.
Nah. Nada. Negative. If the booster doesnt HAVE to go (and it was working properly)its staying right where its at. Whuts that old timer saying? "If it aint broke"......

If that is the case, Please drive it slowly until you have enough road to get used to the new brakes.
