Here's one for the books. Formal dash in a fusie?

Nice job

90% there. Everything seems to be working like it's supposed too except

Instead of the floor for heat, I get a mix of AC ducts and floor air when in heater mode. I had 2 switched on the Defrost servo. Iy may be because I was messing around with the connections. The fresh air duct works like it should.

Screwed up deaL here

Not so fast NOT SO FAST!

Anybody know where i can get that little tab for the heater cable? It's made to adjust the heater cable and slips over the post on the valve or damper. It's black and made of spring steel. Seems I didn't get it with the cable

Ahhh Hey Stan
Does the drivers side duct go under the steering column or over?

This look better?

I am stuck without that clip

Can't figure out what you are referring to.
Can you draw an arrow to what you are looking for?

Are you talking about this little fella?:

If you are, I don't have an extra, BUT, they are also on many of the heater controls which are super cheap on ebay. There are different styles so make sure the seller shows you a pic of the clip. Lance sold his NYB so he's selling off all his NYB hoard. I pretty much picked him clean but he still has.a bunch of heater controls. I won't have to deal with Murray Park for a long time, I hope.

OR just get one of these at the hardware store:

Over.
When in doubt, EVERYTHING goes over. Royal PITA !!!!!!!
That one single $%#@-ing duct prevents you from accessing everything under the dash on the driver's side. I'd leave it off, block off where it attaches from, and it will allow higher flow from the center outlets. You'll thank me in the future. You've been warned.

I still think you are NUTZ! I just crawled out from 2 days under my dash AGAIN to replace the P.B. booster. If I ever have to spend another 5 minutes under the dash of a NYB, I'll put a .38 to my temple first.

Stan, can you post a picture and an arrow pointing out what duct you are talking about blocking. I'm going to have to do major surgery on mine sooner or later to get the A/C to work. BTW, I'm still a student of your "Formal NY'er Repair for Dummie's" Class.

I might put a flex duct in there. But for now, I'll block it. Good idea. Thanks

None of those clips. It goes on the end of the cable on the flapper door. It's the cable connector to that little lever on top of the box. You fine tune the cable there

Happy Birthday Stan

Shaddup you. I don't do b-days... :violent-smiley-100:

Hahahahahahaaha He doesn't want to admit he's older than me. By a few months. LOL

Yeah I figured that;s where you meant Stan. I can slip a piece of fles over that.

To answer your question Drawing A
I thought there was a little spring steel clip on the cable to adjust it. That little loop won't slip over the post on the door lever, I thought the same thing you are. The cable can be adjusted in 2 places. I have a solution for it, but if you sat nothing is there than maybe I am full of it. (Shad app You!)

Mwanwhile, I developed a short somewhere. it's not blowing fuses, just killing th ebattery. Nothing is on. The way I did it, I can isolate all the battery feeds. It's since I bundled the harness under the dash. What a surprise Huh?

Work on that tomorrow. Maybe I'll have the dash closed up this weekend. I still have a new radio and a few switches to install for the computer. Check engine light, stuff like that

If you can dig up a B-body distribution hose, uou can elliminate that fixed molded plastic duct permanently.
Using this flex hose, you can easily slip it on and off when you need to work under the dash.

Heheheheh The last thing I want to do is work under the dash again.

My buddy. As in Eherenberg? Oh yeah. I never looked at his stuff for that.

That hose is kinda what I was thinking of.

Thanks for the ideas Stan
