I learned something today

These two ladies ran across the road, when the tires screeched from a hard hit to the breaks they ran the other way

If it wasnt for the turkeys I may have hit the deer just over the hill. They didnt want their picture taken I guess but they still wanted to see what the fuss was.

Time to head home to a local show....the last picture was of land for sale....................75 acres and I could see how this was going to become 100 houses in a hurry...........I wouldnt mind owning 75 acres.

Dave, why is the '71 so much better to drive? Do you think I should get rid of my cars and buy a hardtop (like that triple blk monaco)?

Doesn't the beard thingy on the left turkey mean it's a Jake?

I was in Nashua NH a few years back and angled down through MA, CN, and then through NJ to PA, and I don't recall any of it looking like that. I remember hills, trees and houses throughout the trees.

You should get some pictures of your cars with these backgrounds on your future trips. Just because we know what you drive doesn't mean we don't want to see some new pictures of them every so often.

Some great pics gents, this is a nice thread.

I was at Carlisle several years ago in a conversation with many C body guys. I made the statement that 71 up ride better than 70 down. I meant nothing by it but merely as a general observation. I guess the guys took note to that statement because the next year one of those fellows thought about it, applied it to his fleet and realized his 71 up cars drove and handled much better than his 68's and 9's. Its just something I believe to be true but cant explain the reasoning.

Mark, my blue 71 is an exceptional handling car for a stock machine. The 440 and 3:23's obviously help but it is just much more enjoyable in comfort, ride and handling.

You are correct I should get some photos of the cars. I guses I am too lazy to get out of'em.

If you were in North East New Jersey or along much of the North and Central part of the Turnpike then yes, that is what you saw. Along the Camden, Burlington and Gloucester counties of Rt 295 then you saw that too. The reality of it is North west Jersey has Gorgeous Mountainous terrain. Much of the Mid Central and southern portions are still farms while the Eastern portion of the central and southern counties are full of Pinelands which is nothing more than thousands of acres of Pine trees and sand. With a river on the West and an Ocean on the East.

I dont see the beard thingy....we call them Toms here not Jakes...

A VERY nice trip. There is nothing like getting lost in god's country for hours on end with your Chrysler/Mopar car.

Your closer to it than I am. Hell ten minutes out ( including lights) and your in no mans land.

I look forward to some pictures of your cars.

A Jake is just a young Tom, thus still being the same size as a typical hen.

One spring there were about 50 of these things in the yard. The dog differentiates the deer and turkeys from other wildlife, as he just lays with his chin on the porch and watches them walk through.

I saw that, where your circle is but shouldnt that be closer to his pecker, I mean his beak?

There are plenty of those damn wild Turkeys here they are neat to watch and listen to when its quiet, early in the morning.

Perhaps you've started something here on early weekend mornings.....not a soul to be found, had the road wide open to myself.
