Jakes 383 rebuild

Your getting further than I am with my stuff. I should probably start a thread of the rest of my body, paint, and assembly on my Barracuda then you guys can guilt me into working on it.

A how to paint thread would be great! You suggested it, you have to be a man of your word! I will guilt the hell out of ya!!

so I will have to come up with something.
Buy one of the Harbor Freight, Tractor Supply, etc, $120.00 jobs and two bags of sand (1 for ea. manifold) for another 15 bucks and you'll have a sandblaster for life. I love my cheapo unit.

Do you have the cabinet or do you blast away in the yard?

It hit 62 degrees today and melted most of the snow. I think that was our summer.

Could anybody post a pic showing how much clearance they have from the timing chain cover to the harmonic balancer or have a measurement? I have less than an 1/8, it worries me. Thanks.

Nice job, intake looks great. What grit and what size flex hone did you use for honing the cylinders. I'll be taking on the same job soon. Looking forward to seeing this one finished. Thanks.

I believe it was 320 grit, but I will verify tomorrow when I get back out to the garage.

Before closed crank case emission laws no pcv and instead of vent tube to atmosphere like the losers at gm Chrysler at least sent it through the engine.
