Wire wheel and elbow grease, mineral spirits and etching primer and paint. I had to re-weld one of the spark plug wire holders.Nice work Jake!!!

I lied, 240 grit on the flex hone.Nice job, intake looks great. What grit and what size flex hone did you use for honing the cylinders. I'll be taking on the same job soon. Looking forward to seeing this one finished. Thanks.
First time a did a ground up rebuild. I really enjoy it. I hope it runs.Impressive. This is the first one you've built from scratch? I've only assembled two, a 383 and a 340, 30 years ago. I agree with Stan, drop off at the machinists and write a check, although I do want to do my 440 like this. It's a bucket list thing.
Machinist! I milled those heads true with a hand grinder and a construction grade 2x4 from the home depot. Honestly, lets hope your wrong!Clarification.
I advocate the heads to go to the machinist for rebuilding.
