Lost my vin tag and title.

Cantflip has given you the best advise possible. Since the VIN on early Mopars have no relation to the options (300L, convertible, engine size, etc.), and you have the data plate with all of the necessary specs, just get the state issued VIN and be done with it.

THANK YOU, You know who you are, Chrysler Historical called this morning and advised me if I come down with the data plates and current pics of the cars they will help me get the vins for both cars... Thanks again, when you're here in March, your dinner is on me..............Once Again, THANK YOU....

What help? some of you are doing nothing but adding to a bad situation, find another post , and bother them....lol
Clicking Ignore Thread button now, I suggest everyone else do the same, send this Troll back to the derby forums. Jack-azz.

I'm leaning more towards an attempt at fraud. It seems more and more that this fellow is using this forum to gain ways to aquire titles to vehicles he may have obtained in some shady manner. Hope I'm wrong, but your attitude leads me to believe your not as upstanding and honest as you let on....... Sorry. :elmer:

www.datatags.com can replace lost vin plates with proof of ownership. If you cant get your original titles replaced (say because you never put them in your name or don't know who the previous owners were) than your best option is to purchase clean vintage titles from an automotive paper seller. Auto-Roundup Magazine out of WV lists many dealers of old titles all over the country. I can say this: it is going to cost a minimum of $400 & probably more per car. You are NOT screwed you just have to be willing to do what must be done. I know of one title seller who has EVERYTHING! but he doesn't do business thru the mail, you must find him at a car show. Point is: there ARE titles exactly like you need out there. Keep in mind: a title & a tag are simply 2 more difficult parts that must be located & money shelled out for. ALL cars need them & people are out there who provide the services. No advice: just useful info... Damn that was a stupid move! ;)
Thank you.... that was helpful, but I had a member get in touch with Chrysler Historical and if I can produce the data tags and recent pics of the cars, they'll help with the vin numbers......

I'm glad your making progress with your endeavor.

As far as your attitude toward some members, I'm at a loss.

There are a fair amount of members here that are not on the same page as I, or maybe not even the same book, but we all attempt to help and share info.

And I have to say that this forum in general is much better than most that I've scanned.

I hope it works out for you.

John

If you do and are serious, please stick around and share information... I believe you will find many of those you thought were against you are actually willing to be on anybodies side as long as they are a part of preserving these cars. I am happy you feel you have found your answers... good luck to you.

I'm still raising the flag:rofl::bs_flag: even if Chrysler Historical can give you a vin, it still doesn't mean you have a title, or that you are the owner. The state issues a title, not the manufacturer. If that was the case I could go to any parking lot at my local Aston Martin dealer, jot down the vin's of my favorite cars and then claim they're mine? C'mon

One thing you are forgetting: Possession. What's the saying? Possession is 9/10 the law? He possesses the vehicles on his property. Assuming the VIN's don't come back stolen and he can get a new VIN plate fabricated, there are agencies that he can use to get a title on the cars. In your scenario, the dealership owns the DB9 in question (although not titled) making your fictitious title meaningless.
