Medina, a 1971 T-code Monaco

Are we talking about this color? That is a 2014, though, not 2025.

Alien II Pearl Metallic, a specific factory paint color with code AE2 used on Kia vehicle.

Note that Alien Pearl in 2013 looks to be significantly duller.

I think we may have hijacked @ayilar's original Medina post.
I did some asking of a free Ai and received this answer. I was thinking along the same as the Ai.
To determine if the Kia AE2 (Alien II Pearl Metallic) is close enough to the 1971 Chrysler GJ4 (April Green Metallic) to be considered a substitute, we can analyze their color characteristics and applications.

Color Comparison

FEATUREKIA AE2 (ALIEN II PEARL METALLIC)1971 CHRYSLER GJ4 (APRIL GREEN METALLIC)
Color ToneBright, vibrant greenSoft, light green
FinishPearl metallicMetallic
VibrancyHigh vibrancy with a shimmering effectSubtle sparkle, more muted
UsageModern Kia modelsClassic Chrysler models

Analysis

  • Color Tone: While both colors are green, the Kia AE2 is a brighter and more vibrant shade compared to the softer and more muted April Green Metallic. This difference in tone may affect how they appear in different lighting conditions.
  • Finish: The Kia AE2 has a pearl finish, which gives it a reflective quality that enhances its vibrancy. In contrast, the April Green Metallic has a standard metallic finish, which may not reflect light in the same way.
  • Application: The Kia AE2 is used in modern vehicles, appealing to a contemporary audience, while the April Green Metallic is associated with classic cars, appealing to vintage enthusiasts.

Conclusion

While the Kia AE2 and 1971 Chrysler GJ4 share a green color family, their differences in vibrancy, finish, and application make them distinct. If you are considering using the Kia AE2 as a substitute for the April Green Metallic, it may not be an exact match, especially for restoration purposes or classic car applications. However, for modern interpretations or custom projects, the Kia AE2 could be a viable option if a brighter green is acceptable.

Steve, I really like your 71 300 as is, just needs plenty of polishing.

Just to clarify this Kia color is a starting point not an exact match to the Chrysler color. It needs to be tinted to be an acceptable match. The toners and tints that are used today are very different than the ones used in old technology paint that was used at the factory so even a perfect color match is going to be more vibrant and maybe more brilliant.

@Boydsdodge — I willingly participated in the hijacking of my own thread :)

For Medina, it took a number of tries to get the GY9 to match. Luckily @azblackhemi found several unblemished and non-faded color parts on Medina that could be matched. Luckily @saforwardlook is in similar shoes and plans to proceed accordingly.

I think this would be a positive, as I observed how Medina's new coat was scintillating in the PA sun just a couple months ago.

Both myself and a good friend of mine did consider this but the original color already is scintillating quite a bit in sunlight and increasing it further would just be too high. We are adjusting the fine metallics to make it shine in the sunlight just like the original color. Nonetheless, thanks for the input.

I had my paint guy mix a sample of the Kia color and I did a spray out. I'm going to mail it to Steve so he can compare it to his color selector chip and to the car itself. Then we can go from there depending how it compares. The metallic is very fine so that's encouraging.
