I just wanted to provide an update of what is going on with restoring my 1971 Chrysler 300. The spray out of Chris' (
@azblackhemi) paint chip matched extremely well the original Chrysler color and trim selector paint chip, so I had my body shop go ahead with the body and paint work. The shop I am now using normally is just a collision repair shop but once and awhile they will also do body and paint work on "classic" cars because the guys working in the shop are mostly all Hispanic and they really enjoy working on the older cars more than the usual newer cars so the owner likes to slip in an older car once each month to keep their skills at a high level. Before I used this shop for the first time on my car, I looked at some of their newer cars after the collision body and paint work had been done and I was very impressed with how straight the damaged cars came out and the quality of the paint applications etc. before I decided to give them my car to do the relatively little body work needed and the paint. The attached photo shows the excellent work they performed and the gloss and straightness of sighting down the bodyside is better than just about any of the cars I have had done before using this shop that is only a few miles from my residence. Maybe around mid-year I should have this car completed.
After this one is done, I should be ready for my triple black 71 300 to come to this shop once my rust repair guy is done with his work.

In the next few months, I will have a new original white boar grain vinyl top, seat covers and an original headliner (all provided by Legendary Auto Interiors) installed by a trim shop I have used many times before and I will install a new carpet set as well. I will install the recently rechromed front bumper and grille assembly soon and the shop already installed the previously rechromed rear bumper when doing all the other work. Then installing the polished side trim on the car will be the last step.
