The reason why I am asking is because I will probably redo Medina's headliner at some point next year (not necessary, just for "perfection") and I was thinking of cleaning up the whole interior at the same time -- but I am worried that the plastics might be too brittle and could break, which is what's holding me back on redoing the headliner.

--> If you could provide some before/after pictures of the plastic parts (and provide info on how you guys cleaned them up), that'd be great!

You seem to have infinite patience. I would have exploded. It sounds like Newstalgia is some sort of re seller since they seem to have no clue what they are selling. Thanks for the fair warning to avoid this incompetent vendor.

I do not think they are incompetent, a simple mistake was made on color. The headliner is from them too and very happy with it.
The company is in VA but the materials were shipped from California.
They corrected the mistake and got 50 bux back on my Visa.
Good people to deal with but the elbows did not know what the ankles were doing.
The top will work as it is made to fit several vehicles. The top on the Boab was same way and it worked out just fine.

i had the exact same problem with the vinyl recently for my 71 Newport 2dr, ordered black and got white... Maybe they mixed up our orders?? Have a look here

I'm on the same stage, letting the vinyl rest on the car for it to smooth out, hopefully the body shop gets it right putting it on - first time they'll be doing it ;)

The metal garnish trim I use my whitewall cleaner diluted a bit and use a nail brush to get into the grain. .from there I rinse off with warm water and dry with microfiber towel. Then I use Mother's Protectant with another microfiber towel.
I do the same on the plastic but my cleaner is diluted even more to avoid discoloring or removing the paint from the plastic.
Plus lots of elbow grease.
The rear seat and door cards cleaned same way.
My cleaner I bought from a wholesale supplier but you can use Simple Green straight up and or diluted.

Vinyl top installation (and headliners) is a dying art form nowadays.
When Bill retires,I may not buy any projects that requires his expertise.,LOL!
So I will share a few details that are normally not seen on a day to day basis.
Here,the center line has been established with tape,and extra tape to keep the glue away from the car.

The top is is flipped upside down and the glue was sprayed onto the material.

We slid the top down over the hood and the roof was sprayed with glue..

The top was then flipped over and carefully set into place..
Before the gluing,Bill folded the top and notched the center.
In this photo,he lined up the cut notch with the centered tape line and tapped down the material to keep it from shifting..

from the front,Bill went to the rear at the C pillars and pulled down on the top to smooth out the vinyl on the C pillars.
He really had to use his body to pull it down

Here he is smoothing out the top side.
After this Using my eyes I assisted by making sure the seams are straight as he lifted tucked and pulled on the top till the lines were straight.
Critical step since the the glue was about to set.

I took a step back and let the master do his thing.
All trimmed back,tucked and rolled,set into place for good...

After cleaning up shop took a couple pics of the finished top..
Now that I can see this color combo is sharp!!
