MrMopar's 1969 California Highway Patrol restoration

We here are some pictures of part of the car that have never been seen, and I have never really got a good look at till now.

The plan is to take care of this once the car is drivable and I can get it on a lift. I have cleaned up the forward area already enough to get the frame in (the replacement floor was done when it was put in). I was able to get these pictures because I had the car at the Muffler Shop to have the exhaust put in.

The mufflers and tailpipes were from Accurate Exhaust, the hangers were original and cleaned up. They only needed to fabricate the head pipe, they were very happy I had the original pipe to model.

They had the car out of the shop before I could get pictures of the install.

When I was under the car I noticed that the transmission was not centered in its mount, the next time I work on the car I'll need to loosen the engine mounts a see if I can shift it.

Either way it is another step closer to firing this up for the first time in 30+ years.

When the car was returned to my garage I put it in nose first so I will be able to pull the differential and clean it.

This was a two day read for me! I lurk here for your builds (I'm an A Body guy) and I have to say you C Body guys have the most interesting threads. I've always like the retired cop cars - most likely a holdover from the first time I saw the Blues Brothers... Great job Alan, I'll follow your build.

This thread is for the most part an abridged version of what I put on my website http://www.MrMopar.com/, there I have about 135 pages and over 2100 pictures. Even there I try to condensed the write-ups to a few paragraphs and five pictures with a link to the rest of the pictures I took for that update.
