My '66 Fury III

The parts for the lift should be in here tomorrow, but I am getting so close to being running again, kept marching on...or marching up and down the ladder....

more pieces are on, hope to have it on the ground tomorrow and finish up with wiring.

Sooooo close now. Got the lift repaired, so more work done today. Except for pwr steering pump, exhaust manifold gaskets(they were supposed to be here today), fluids, almost ready to crank it up. Wiring is 90% done. Thought this was kinda cool, needed more circuits because of added stereo, woofer, gauges, so rigged up a new block. It attaches to e-brake bracket with really strong hard drive magnet makes it easy to add stuff. I bought like 50 of them for $10 off epay, with my metal shop they come in real handy. Anyway, should have it running this weekend, then will start prepping body for paint. Need to get going, the weather here is great for cruising...

Finally got her out and get a little sun...other than needed alignment, she runs good and appears to have no leaks. Felt real good to drive around the block a few times. Now on to prepping body for paint....

Back at it....the trim removal was way easier than I anticipated. The FSM was helpful, although some trim retainers were evidently redone and not stock. On to the sanding stage...

Finally got some decent weather...and motivation. Every time I pull something I find some rust...go figure. Nothing major, just time consuming, want to get this thing painted before weather get real bad...as far as real bad is in South Texas...

Rt door off waiting for hinge bushings to arrive, rigged up a jig to help with that.

Stayed at it since weather is so nice, 65°, clear, no wind...love it.

Front grill parts are cleaned up and ready for primer, as well as door hinge areas and body work areas. Feels like I'm making some progress now...

Back at it....

Guess I am going to pull trunk lid to address rust on underside.

Both bumpers are off ready to take up to Houston for re-chroming.

Busted a couple of these trim clips, anyone know of a source for these?

Body work almost complete, really didn't need much.

Side note...we got this 1969 Honda Z50 from in-laws, wife got it brand new back in the day, she wanted a horse, dad got her this, anyway, brought it home, got it running, came up idea of pairing it with the Fury for car shows. It used to be blue, painted it the same scheme the car is going to be, plan is to have a detachable bike carrier and haul it to car shows, basically from same era, thought it was a neat idea, will see when all is done.....

Another can of worms opened... while sanding trunk lid/trunk area, decided would be easier to paint with well liner removed, it was crappy looking anyway, more rust found....nothing serious, but now I see it, must be addressed. Also need to work on surface rust on inner door panels....
