new law for only 2 cars per driveway in minneapolis

In my city, you can't park on grass or even gravel! Generally, it has to be asphalt, concrete, or brick. You can park on gravel, if your lot is larger than one acre. If you're zoned as Ag, you can do damn near what you want (like me!).
Oh, by the way...a little environmental bonus ...grass doesn't show oil and tranny drips:rofl:

All of you stay in the city or suburbs. You made your bed now lay in it. Don't cry to me. All of you want to come out to the country because some builder got a parcel of property and jammed 30 houses on it, you buy one and then you want all the country goings on around you to stop, F off you should have stayed in the city. My one and only "neighbor" is far enough away that my truck running for 20 min in the morning does not bother him. Come build a house across the street then start bitching because that straight stacked Peterbilt starts up and runs at 3:30am for 20-30 min. I can't wait I will be the worst neighbor you have ever met. Then I'm selling this unfinished house to section8, come on you don't have a hair on your *** to buy the property across the road and build.

I'd love to hear the rumble of that Pete in the early morning hours! I hate people that move in knowing something will bug them, and do so anyways. Then have the balls to not speak with you personally, and go try to "fix" whatever they feel is wrong.

I don't know what asshat in Minneapolis thought this up, but their constitutes must be along those lines. Other than tow yards or some industrial areas, I think you'd have a hard time finding a gravel driveway. I think they are going after car counts essentially, covering their bases by including language that mentions non-improved surfaces. I find it odd that you aren't allowed a van with a logo on the side. So now your neighbor who owns a plumbing service has become a bright on your precious little neighborhood? Glad I don't live there, or near there anymore. Noise has never bothered me, the garbage man used to throe snowballs at my window as I watched him get our trash, he even backed in up to the garage! Can you imagine how that would go over in today's world? He'd definitely be fired, that much I know. How long til Minneapolis takes away the car stereo for having it louder than the car next to you likes? Or take my dog for walking her on my left side vs my right side? I live amongst Republican/conservatives, an I am very glad that I do.

This little wrecking yard has been around as long as cars, he was 3 miles out of town and across the river. It wasn't till the 80's that he had to fight the development and have it put on the deeds he was there and not going anywhere.
The first development to the east was in the mid to late 80's and the one to the south in 2004.

Several years earlier just south of this the city did the same thing, in that case because of low flying aircraft in the landing/takeoff pattern at the local (city owned) airport.

It hasn't happened yet, but it will come hope I'm gone by then.

They still make Rolling Rock down in Latrobe?
Nope, bought by Anheiser Busch moved to N.J.
Feel bad for the older guys that worked there, but the younger guys in evening screwed the pooch on that one.
All day you could go in get loaded in a reasonable time. If your appointment was for 4 pm or later you were not getting loaded til 8:30 pm or later, they blatantly came in put up tons of cameras, warned, and warned, no change. Stupid younger people we are union and you can't make Rolling Rock anywhere else won't be the same. See how that worked the company threw in the towel sold to A.B. offered jobs in N.J. like anyone wants to move there to be a forklift flunky.

Bummer. At least PA still has Yuengling, oldest privately owned brewery. We have Schell's brewery in New Ulm, the second oldest privately owned brewery. They bought the Grain Belt brand when they went under. Took them nine months to adapt the recipe to the different water, but they got it. I was a little disappointed they came out with a Blueberry version of Grain Belt, should have left that in their Schell's catalog.

My driveway with four cars parked in it easily. Then the driveway across the court that has looked like that for years. Woman in her later 60's with a son in his later 30's who maybe a little challenged mental but seemingly nice. Problem is they also have seven dogs which are running loose at times. At least till last week when the neighbor called police and they were out to talk to the son.

The week previous I was working on a car, on the far side of the driveway, and while walking back and forth stepped in dog poop that I didn't know was there. I walked into the garage, back out to the car, started working again with a ratchet off the ground, and noticed poop on the tool and my hand. Ballistic!! Had to waste time cleaning the garage, the tool, my boots and the side yard. Next day my son says Dad look at all the dogs on the front lawn. I rush out, grabbing boots and shoes at the front door and start flinging them at the dogs. They get semi-aggressive and come towards me and I charge them picking up the boots and hitting them in the face now. The son comes out trying to get the dogs away as I am pissed. Yell at him I'll kill the damn dog with my bare hands if it gets near enough. He later spends an hour cleaning dog poop off all the lawns in the court. Next week the police are out.

Speaking of cars the early Chief Engineer of the Hornet was a retired Navy Commander who was Engineering aboard several different carriers. Interesting guy who thought Oldsmobile between 1950 to about 1965 were the best cars ever. Also liked to collect large scale train engines. He lived aboard the Hornet while having a house down in San Diego County. Not married which becomes apparent when you learn he had 50 Oldsmobiles parked in his back yard out in Lemon Grove. Kitchen sink more of a parts washer than a kitchen sink. Things went quietly for years and years as there was a tall fence around the property but then Lemon Grove was evolving. I remember it from the early 70's. Soon someone complained and the County District Attorney gave him an ultimatum about getting rid of the cars. Actually it was a junk yard and quite clear the "I am going to restore them" was never gonna happen. He also had a hard time considering anyone worthy enough to buy one. Anyway he lost the battle and the cars got scattered around California at friend's places and God knows what else. With that he finally got married in his early 70's for the first time and settled in the Salinas region.

Better beer than that Rolling Rock swill anyway.
I personally like Straub, brewed in St Mary's Pa. It all was no preservatives, no added sugar but now only the returnable bottles are the only no preservative version.

Rather deal with seven dogs then seven kids bouncing tennis balls and basketballs near my cars. I never met a dog I didn't like...I probably have dog poop on every pair of shoes I own.

That answers my question of whether they still have returnables available. Rolling Rock was greet as an underage teen! So was whatever we could get.

I'm surprised no one has walked off with that fine TV!

only problem was these dogs are using everyone else's property to poop on except their own...

I am a little surprised that no one from the city stopped by last summer.

Maybe it's because we have so many derby guys in town, they don't care about a shell being there for a few months. Works for me, Laura was the one I was worried about the most.

"Mama doesn't want to pick up your doo-doo, go on the neighbors yard, good dog." Same people who don't pick up after their dogs on the walking trails.

I hear ya...I'm a responsible dog owner...my dogs stay to themselves and keep me busy in my own yard...those aren't frozen dreamsicles in that wheelbarrow.:rofl:PS in Minnesota winters if you step on a doggy surprise you may roll an ankle before you transfer it to your hand tools.
