The movie dealt with this topic. I think the guy who used to run the Chrysler 300 he nicknamed "traveler" to smuggle out moonshine was an advisor to the movie.

Messed it up, was the movie "Moonrunners" according to the website that later spun into the Dukes of Hazzard.
