I have a 1957-8 Olds Valve Trombone. I bought it in 1974 so that I could play in my High School Jazz Band (Stage Band). Played it for my two grandsons two weeks back; was surprised I could! Have not played (regularly) since 2011.

Picture is old, from 2009. That's my Son, Jerry, with the silver Reynolds. We were playing outside before the Christmas Eve Service. The next year there were 11 of us! Didn't know then that that would be my last time playing with all of them as I moved to Chico that next Summer.

Merthiolate - the real stuff saved and still using since the 70s. Not the ineffective Merthiolate product sold nowadays (since the mid 80s) which has the thimerosal (an organomercury compound) removed. These are my last two bottles, about three quarters gone each. For me, it is the best medicine/antiseptic for sharp finger cuts, popped blisters, and other similar stuff. It burns for a bit, but later soreness is greatly reduced with quicker healing. Its so-called toxicity that led to its change is only an issue when misused.

I bought this clock radio in 1978 at Service Merchandise. Except for power outages or moves, it has been powered on since then. It uses a 9 volt battery as a backup to keep the clock and alarm settings during a power outage. It has been with me every morning that I have been at home since 1978.

Chlordane.....my insurance agent gave it to me about 37 years ago when I asked him what works for termites. The bottle (from the 60's had 'Fireant Killer' on it). I knew it had been banned so did some research on how to use it. Been here going on 41 years and haven't seen a termite since! I know an older guy that used it 'inside' his house to get rid of roaches and well, so far he's still around.

Ingersoll Rand air compressor purchased at Pace Membership Warehouse (K-mart's version of Sam's Club) in 1985. It has been used a lot. Only repair has been to replace the pressure switch which was a semi-recall item. The original Telefunken switch was replaced with a Square D unit, provided by Ingersoll-Rand.

That unit looks very similar to the Builder’s Square compressor that I have. I believe Builder’s Square was part of Kmart. I bought it in 1987 when I bought my first house. The store had a ‘welcome to the neighborhood’ coupon which got me 10% off my first purchase (which included insulation and drywall for the garage)…

Purchased in 1979 from Harbor Freight via mail order. From a paper catalog with a mail in order blank and check. I had to fully weld the seam between the angle iron struts used as the sides due to flexing. It has worked okay since.

Old working oven removed to replace with a new unit. I remounted this one in my shop and use it to bake powder coated small items, cure stuff, dry stuff, or heat parts such as ring gears. Early to mid 70s vintage

My Sears jack is 3 years older.
