One of my winter projects

No she's not Fred however she is into seeing me happy and knows the cars are an important part of that. She was the best riding shotgun to Carlisle in the Imperial and she thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it but I don't think she'll ever really be a car girl.

That's OK.....as long as she hands you a 9/16" wrench when you need it.

I'm sure you guys would all make great witnesses but are any of you justices of the peace or ordained ministers? We were thinking more of a toes in the sand type of ceremony but haven't made any decisions yet.

Great news.

So since you've pulled and are rebuilding the engine and trans .. any plans or thoughts towards improving on performance such as cam, head swap or head work, or stroking it?

Trans .. improving durability and firmness of shifts?

Fronts susp rebuild while engine is out? Firm Feel steering sector?

And I don't recall if the R/T is original paint or not but are you going to repaint the engine compartment while you have the engine and trans out?

I started to do a simple clean up of my Coronet R/T engine and carb etc to get it road worthy year before last and wound up pulling the engine and trans and now am doing a full mechanical rebuild of all systems front to back i.e. fuel, cooling, converting from 2 to 3 speed wiper motor (for 6 BBL), front and rear susp, brakes (converting front drums to 11.75 disc), rear end, engine and trans rebuild, but probably not going to paint the engine bay (no skillz) so it can be a slippery slope ... I know :)

Very minor upgrades from stock for this winter. I'm not interested in these cars being too far from what they were when they left the factory, really except radial tires ( @fc7_plumcrazy )..
The engine rebuild will be stock with maybe a little hotter cam and of course it'll be .030 over bore.
the trans will be bulletproof but I don't want it shifting too hard. I found that the converter which was new about 8 years ago is shot. This explains why the car is in third gear before getting to the other side of the intersection...
third member will be upgraded to a sure grip unit, anybody have a 2.97 SG?
For now I'm sticking with the drums all the way around and not touching the suspension.
Full underhood resto including paint.
The wiring in this car needs a lot of work so it'll probably get a couple of new harnesses along with the changeover to the Rallye instrument cluster and lastly a new top which I have already purchased.

Nothing to add, but engaged to marriage now as well, let's see if we can make a double date, she could be her sister in the first place. :laughing4:
A double wedding in the German countryside or do you want to meet us on some island near the equator???

You should find a Sea captain for the ceremony :)

Matt, we got married in Niagara Falls overlooking the rapids. You can do that on the way to Carlisle! You have to do it on the American side though. Getting married in Canada is difficult for a US citizen.

Either that or one of us needs to become a mail order minister.

Can we just have him perform the ceremony???

He used to perform some pretty irritating ceremonies with attractive females when he was a bit younger but he lives now the life of a priest at about 92 in human years.
So the answer would be yes.

Same situation here. Married her 37 years ago and when I started into the old cars in 2001 she's been supportive ever since. She goes to Moparfest each year and is into that and enjoys the company of our regular group.

Matt, if you want a 727 bulletproof built or any upgrades you should contact Mike (Newp). Believe me......no one on this planet has more knowledge or expertise in building 727's! He builds them for 8 second 1/4 mile cars and everything in between. And......he lives pretty close to you (west of Chicago in Indiana).
