Refurbish time

Tell your buddy to test fit the hood on that Formal first. I once had a TM7 intake and a dual snorkel air cleaner on a 75 Imperial and it cleared the hood just fine.

Well guess I can close this thread. Went out for shake down cruise today. Wow what a difference....firing on all eight holes under full compression and I'm just lovin' the eddy brock performer RPM intake, extremely nice. Glad I went with it. I have no points on my license gonna have to restrain myself extra hard now. Small tranny leak at one of the radiator nipples my own damn fault easy to fix though. Off to the exhaust shop. Haven't picked one yet but it will be happening shortly. As usual many thanks to all who chimed in. This is kinda fun.

Anybody using the outboard 2 stroke oil with the tw3c. I have been putting it in both Challengers seem to idle better but hard to tell with the cams, my pu seems to idle better also too early to tell and I don't drive any of them enough to see mpg improvement.

Maybe 2 tanks, I figure the oil coats all the internal parts to prevent corrosion and it burns completely and ashless Ripnator posted a link to a gm, LS forum they had a 30 page thread of results over a couple years, I figure its worth a try and the stuff is cheap. They say 1 ounce per 5 gallon of gas

I've began using it in my cars since Rip posted that link. I was using a Lucas product for the ethanol but now have switched. I hope it works as well as stated but I really don't notice much difference in performance. The good news is I wasn't expecting one, I am just hoping to stop the negative affects that the ethanol causes.
Nice work Gary, glad you're back on the road! I look forward to hearing what the new exhaust sounds like.

Spent the morning at an exhaust shop with the car up in the air and found this......there is a leak at the buttery fly valve in the bottom of the pass side exhaust manifold. It appears the bushing/seal(?) around the shaft where it comes out has deteriorated enough to allow fumes to escape and that's what's making all the racket and smell. Now that there is something I've NEVER seen happen. Seen those valves stuck in one position but never letting fumes escape through the shaft hole. Got some decisions to make. Open to suggestions.

That's what I should have and still need to do on my Imp.. It would have been much easier to do while I had it off....

Tell me about. I had both manifolds off just a week ago. Finagling the pass side manifold to come off and out is a B-I-T-C-H.

Tapping the holes and using a NPT plug is a good idea. I'd stake the threads to keep them from loosening. Loctite won't work well where it gets hot like an exhaust manifold.

IMHO, you don't want the valve. Today's crap gas really doesn't seem to like the additional heat in the intake crossover.
