You're also correct that using low compression forged internals is the way to go for big boost. But.... There are tons of guys who have run 6 or 8pounds of boost on a stock bottom end for hundreds of thousands of miles. Adding fuel & removing timing is exactly how you control detonation. It is in the tune, period.

You obviously don't know **** about EFI.Again, retarding the timing and adding fuel to control detonation is only useful to a small degree... and it kills power and wastes fuel. You can't fix a mismatched major componant problem with your "tuning" period.
