has2bmopar: well, you're right that 300 is really pushing it but you're wrong about pretty much everything else. You're obviously a smart guy & you surely know a ton more about cars than I do. You're also correct that using low compression forged internals is the way to go for big boost. But.... There are tons of guys who have run 6 or 8pounds of boost on a stock bottom end for hundreds of thousands of miles. Adding fuel & removing timing is exactly how you control detonation. It is in the tune, period.

OK, I've already said that 300 is really pushing it, you guys are killing me. You're absolutely right about the nitrous, it can be very dangerous. If you just slap some nitrous on a stock car...

Aside from the safely adding 300hp contradiction, you agreed with 2 other things that I stated after you said everything else that I said was wrong.

That sounds like a generic response from my ex-girlfriend when she was losing an arguement. You need to tell me please in detail, what in my comments was incorrect, and why.

Again, retarding the timing and adding fuel to control detonation is only useful to a small degree... and it kills power and wastes fuel. You can't fix a mismatched major componant problem with your "tuning" period. Sure you can put this together and back off the timing, add fuel..... and tune, and tune, and it will run, but not good and not efficiently.

I don't believe the miles... on what year Challenger? ... so they are driving a 6.1... What? 90,000 miles a year? LOTS of people drive their SRT8s so very many miles? ... Really?

And how many of these miles are they actually pushing boost? My bull shitter alarm is detonating.....

Do more research, and post some You Tube runs, we want to see how well your shop did in getting your naturally aspirated Challenger into the 10s.

Don't try to call me out on my build and don't try to call me a pussy by saying I had somebody do it for me. Not cool.

And, yes, there are hundreds of guys running blowers or turbo on daily driven LX cars.

1) You would be wrong again, and we were not talking about fuel injection, also pre-ignition doesn't care how the fuel got there.

2) Don't pull this childish "calling you out on your build" ****, or calling you a pussy, those are your words slick. I have no details on your car, other than you said it was going to run 10s, and you were having a shop build it for you, so what the hell is wrong with wanting to see a clip of it running?

You just told me most of my initial post was mostly bullshit...WTF? Chill man, lets stick to the subject.

2. HAHA, you called me slick. I've posted plenty about the build & I don't feel like typing it all again. What do you want to know? You are wrong about how to tune a modern Hemi to handle boost or nitrous on a stock bottom. You add fuel & back off timing to safely add boost & make big horsepower. I only speak English so I have no other means of communicating that to you. Ive said it like 5 times. Perhaps someone else here can translate it into.....

Bring whatever you got & let's line em up if you want some proof. Don't worry, I'll post up my time slips later this summer.

3. Exactly what I've said from the beginning. Tons of guys running boost on daily driven stock cars. I never said high boost, always said 6-8. Hundreds of thousands of miles.
 
I bet my LX (LC) car is faster than any street car he's got & I'll line em up for cash anytime.

My only point here is real simple. Edelbrock, Pro Charger, Vortec, Magnusson, Kenne Bell, etc. they all make bolt on kits that most guys can do in their garage. The kits come with upgraded fuel injectors & a hand held programmer that loads a new tune onto the car. Guess what the tune does? Yep, it adds fuel & backs off timing. Maybe none of those companies know what they're doing.
 
I've heard an LX car can blow away many other models which is bitchen because you can pick one up for next to nuthin.
