I have a 7000 lb four post hoist. The first thing I did was put my 74' New Yorker up on it once assembled. Sorry, no pictures of the New Yorker on it but I do have some of my other cars on it.

I can’t recall if I ever posted a picture of the lifts that I had installed after I moved in to my current house three years ago. The lady in the photos is the wife of the lift company’s owner. The base plate and upright get bolted to the floor. They are a cantilever type of lift. If I put in 2 4 post lifts I would not have been able to walk between the cars parked below the lift platform.

sorry long time lurker, i bought... cannot recall make but it was similar to thi
MD-6XP Mid-Rise Pad Lift - Portable Mid-Rise Lift - BendPak
I RECESSED it in the floor, boards over for now so can drive over (need to get some pix, sorry!) anyway, it was inspired by this

consider how you will REALLY use the lift... I decided that yep, not doing the overhead stuff anymore, too old for that (back, etc.)... only need that for doing an exhaust etc. Can do brakes, oil change, body work all sitting on a rolling cart. YMMV though! And I don't have the height being a a normal roughly 9ft ceiling (8 ft walls plus floor = approx. 9ft)
just some thoughts

I bought a 9000lb rated Wildfire Lift.

4 Post Car Lifts | Safest, Highest Quality On The Market | Four Post

I looked at a lot of 4 post lifts and this looked to me like the best design. I didn't like the cast steps on some of the cheaper and the concrete in my garage isn't thick enough to bolt a two post lift to safely. They told me it would take two people to assemble it. I have a crappy back and a really bad neck, so I accepted the challenge and put it up by myself with no help, including unloading.

that's what i try to get across to people. even if a vehicle can't be lifted a full sixty inches, a lift is still better and safer than jack stands and a sheet of cardboard. my neighbor put a two post floor plate lift in his garage with a ten foot ceiling and uses it to service all his vehicles including his 1500 dodge.

ive got a Bendpak 9000 lber
i didnt do my research properly when i bought it - i didnt realise i would need airlines for the release mechanism which was a bit of a PITA getting sorted.
it certainly was a hassle because the release valve was defective and the local distributor on the mainland didnt bother to send it by overnight mail ( which you'd think theyd do on a 7k cdn$ sale) so it took 10 days after they got the part in for it to arrive.
and apparently they knew about issues with the check valves.
if i was doing it again i'd buy a lift with a mechanical release, but having said that im happy enough with it now

Well I finally bought one, here’s part of it. I have some work to do before I can install it but I’m pretty darn excited about it. It’s just getting harder and harder to work close to the floor. It’s a gently used 9k.

This is exactly what I bought. The tall wide one. It had a couple little minor issues as well, but nothing memorable. I bought right out of the Summit catalog.... made the trip to Akron and they put it right on my car trailer. Was quite an easy transaction, and it's a great lift.

Here's mine. Bought it over 20 years ago and have used the heck out of it. It's seen probably 50 complete paint jobs/restorations plus way too many smaller repair jobs. Just now the ram is starting to leak so that's on my to do list.
