I've read your thread Captain and I've gotta ask. What Edelbrock # do you have on it? Those are about exact copies of the Carter AVS, and even Chrysler realized after a couple years that the T-Quadz were junk too. Me thinkest you have issues beyond the Carburetor? But I'd contact Summit Racing tec department and ask them what Edelbrock they would recommend for your '75 Imp. and see if it's ah match to what you have on it. You could be over gunned with a 600 CFM or more. Nothing says the guy you bought it from was the sharpest knife in the drawer either? Jer

I dont know i drove it to the post office today and it rides so nice even with the crapy carb no power valve high idle kicks in and wont kick down.

A "crappy carb" can be tamed with the right adjustments and TLC, many times. The "no kickdown" is probably a mis-adjusted transmission carb linkage, for example. You'll need to find out what the cause of the "high idle" is. IF they tried to interface a square bore carb to a spread bore carb, with a square bore carb base gasket, sometimes that works, sometimes, not, even if the carb mounting studs line up with the holes in the carb base plate.

Would be a shame to sell the car and later discover that $50.00 in parts would have made it great to drive!

Kickdown off high idle. There is no problems with transmission

The point of a factory carb was to hook up charcoal canister and other vacuum lines to factory spec

Follow the vac line diagram graffic under the hood to do the same thing with your existing aftermarket Edelbrock AFB. Might need some plastic vac tees?

The 1406 Eddy carb is a 600cfm square bore unit. The original T-Quad was a spread bore carb. I suspect most of your problem is a poor interface with the adapter plate. It may be binding the throttle butterflies on the gaskets or the adapter. Pull the carb and the adapter plate and re-bolt the plate to the carb, next, check the operation of the throttle plate; if it is binding, it should be obvious. You may have to do some work with a dremmel to to fix this. You could also try a different adapter plate.

The 1406 is a good carb and should work fine on your Imperial once it is properly set up. It also looks like from the photo that your throttle return spring could be clashing with the kick down linkage. While you have the carb off, this would be a good time to install an EGR blocker plate under the EGR valve as these units are nothing but trouble with moonshine blend fuels and are the frequent cause of performance problems due to carbon build up in the EGR valve which blocks it open.

You might be able to find an EGR block-off plate AND the related gasket, in either the online catalogs for Holley or Edelbrock, in the "carb accessories" area, usually.
